Just picked up a Lude for my son that was slammed on function form 1's... I adjusted all 4 of the coils up to raise it a tad. I measured all the cylinders from bottom lock collar, to bottom of top collar. When I dropped the car the front is way higher than the rears? could it be the preload is off on the fronts or rears? I am not familiar with the function coils can someone help me out. Much appreciated..

Re: function form 1 coilovers

The correct way to adjust 1 piece coilover suspension is to loosen the bottom lock ring and tighten the lower strut housing to lower the vehicle or loosen to raise. I suggest using the proper coilover wrenches for the lock rings because more times than not they are full aluminum bodies and do not take kindly to the ol' hammer and flat head.

I'm no expert on spring preload but in the past I've adjusted the top two lock rings so they are JUST touching the spring. You shouldn't have enough clearance to rattle the spring around in the assembly but it should just be able to rotate with little force. Let me know if this helped
