Skunk2 cams idle issue

have anyone had idle issues with aftermarket cams?
we installed skunk2 pro1's and otherwise they run good, exept idle is not steady. when cold it tries to die all the time (or it dies) and when warm its idle between 700 and 950 all the time

we also put 66mm blox tb there could that effect anyhow?
(this bypasses the coolant line)

gotta try to change stock one back and see does it effect there anyway

header leaks little bit and cat's health is kinda ?-mark..going fix these next, but does they effect on idling?

or is that just those cams feature?

gotta try to check everything through again
clean EGR and IACV, calibrate tps.. check vacuum leaks and re check valves

they don't believe in true tuning across the pond, they still chip their ECU's

Yeah Skunk 2 cams with have different idle characteristics, tuning should help, but tuning should be a given any way when using aftermarket cams.

^^You cant chip a 5th gen ;) 4G chips are a cheap way of removing the JDM limiter whilst still keeping VTEC in first ;) That's why we do it!

Re: Skunk2 cams idle issue

the blox tb that bypasses the coolant lines removes your fast idle thermal valve . hence no high idle when its cold . the temp is telling the ecu to richen up the mix but the idle cant keep it running at that rich of a mixture . i would suggest using the screw on the new tb to set the idle up closer to 950 if you want it to stay idling while cold .

Any cams you get will cause your car to idle differently, it's just a bi-product of bigger cams, it's no big deal, just kind of annoying

Re: Skunk2 cams idle issue

damn.. still idle isnt steady

things done so far

- new plugs
- vacuum leaks fixed
- iacv and egr cleaned
- new tps calibrated
- 2 new IM hoses
- new cat

then the idle stayed 850... but after driving little bit it started bouncing again between 850 and 1000. but like not ALL THE TIME

today we tested to adjust intake cam to minus and checkd ignition.
we got steady idle around 1000 but then again after some driving it started bouncing between 1200 and 1000

so no fix

could it be that TB or the tune
