Bykfixers new money pit Lexus
My son (we'll call him elspectro) bought a black n tan 2004 Lexus GS 300 a while back. He told me it was going to be converted to a Toyota Aristo after the Fiero GT race car project. Well, he ended up with a low mile 98 Toyota Aristo in great shape so he offered me the Lexus at a good price. It's a nice car with a lot of life left in it.
It won't be a resto-mod or anything. Probably just a bit of a fixer upper. A good spa treatment and a few things repaired along the way like figuring out why the cd changer drains the battery dead every few days.

Re: Bykfixers new money pit Lexus
I named the car Lucy, short for "Lucy the Limo".

I was thinking "double 04" since the factory tint'd windows keep its occupants a secret but I digress.
Bought my first gimmick for it (so far).
That and a what used to be called a keyfob until the modern remote became the norm.
A fob used to be a piece of leather, a metal logo attached to that both of which were attached to a split ring that also held your car key(s).
These days a 4D bright flashlight the size of a US quarter can be had for $5 too.

In true ole #97 form the previous S&SPOG decal shown in post 1 kept giving me grief.
It refused to stick to glass……3 stickers later I said never mind.
New die-cut sticker applied.
Thanks to Mrs Fixer ole Lucy looks better

Re: Bykfixers new money pit Lexus
$20 got 6 gallons of gas. Gyah!!
Now if it could go 0-60 in 3 shakes of a lambs tail or get 25mpg in the city I'd be ok wit dat. But it goes 0-60 eventually and gets the mpg of a loaded dump truck around town so I'll just have to grin and bear it. You gotta pay to play so driving around in a mini-limo aint gonna be cheap. It's not like my old 77 Cutlass that had ahigh output 350 engine and a whirlpool in the tank though. That old posh cruiser went 0-60 lickety split but never met a filling station it didn't like. It also liked that 1970's fuel too so none of this weak sauce 93 octane crap we call premium these days. Nope it liked it's fuel at least 102 but preffered 108. So you either put in racing fuel or a load of octane boost and got about 8mpg city or highway. Oh, Lord if you turned on the A/C it was worse. But she sure was fast.

So this car is a kinda replacement for that Cutlass in a luxury car way without all of the zoom potential. At some point I'll take it to a shop and have the guy look it over while on a lift and give me the skinny on where to start pouring money in.

Now small trip to a park for photos would have used 3 gallons of fuel in the Cutlass. But probably used a half gallon in the Lexus. It was a good day to take a short spin in the nice pollen air after doing some yard work.
I suck at car pix but liked this one ok.

Still await plates from DMV. So far, 6 weeks later still no plates.
So I made a set.
