Prelude Stock Car

LOL I know you guys are probably thinking we are crazy to wreck such a nice car but I think it should do very well as a stock car.(dirt track) We will be racing against other simular sized cars. Its a 92 prelude SR fully loaded with the 160 hp engine. It has about 180,000kms which is ruffly about 105,000 miles. The engine is very strong and runs great. We are in the process of stripping it at the moment. Have to remove everything off this car. We have removed all the seats..(have to put a racing seat in it and rollcage) and interior. We ran accross 3 computers..one under passengers seat..one in drivers door and one in the back seat area. I assume there will be one also under the dash when we get to it. What I was wondering is which ones control what? I want to get rid of them but don't want to screw the engine up by getting rid of the wrong ones.
If anyone knows the location of all the computers and what they do I will be very gratefull. I will also keep you all informed on our progress if you are interested. Thank you very much
Budd

Re: Prelude Stock Car

Behind the rear left seat - 4ws
Under the Seats - Seat Heater
In door - Power door lock
Under dash - Cruise control controller
Right side behind the door - ABS
Passenger foot kick - ECM(big) & Rad fan control (small)
Front center - SRS airbag.

I've known a couple of people who converted 2d gen ('84-'87) Preludes to dirt stockers -- your the first 4th gen I've heard of. Put up a picture when you get it done.

Since it sounds like it's a 4WS car, you need to look under the back end and make sure you can either lock the steering, or replace the rear knuckles with the same parts from a 2WS version.

Re: Prelude Stock Car

We will have this in the mini stock cars...rules are that it has to be a front wheel drive car and no bigger than a 2.6 ltr engine. This is a SR so does not have rear steering. Will try and get some before pictures and after its done pictures to post.
