Hankook Tires

Anyone ever drive on Hankook tires? Pro's? Con's? Pepboys gave me a good price on a set of 4. Z rated, 40K mile warranty. $400 installed (after mail in rebate). The Lude needs tires bad. Know what sucks more than failing inspection? Riding around with a rejection sticker while you try to find 205-50-16 tires in stock x 4!

Good tires, get the Ventus series if you can.

Yeah, its the ventus line of Hankooks. Not sure if they are directional. I assume theyre categorized as "high performce" tires.

I've got the Ventus Sport K104 on my summer wheels now
They are great
Road noise is reasonable, if you have the radio on you can't hear them at all.
Mine have the rim protector lip on them, and I guess it works just fine, haven't had any issues.
Grip is pretty good too. I can usually take most sharp freeway ramps at ~40-50mph
We've got a ramp here that makes a fairly wide curve from one interstate to another, and I can set cruise on 80 and not have to touch the brake on it at all. If its wet though ~65-70 tops before I'll start to slip a little. Depending on how wet it is. There's little metal strips that connect the over-pass pieces, and those are what really break the grip anyway.

Rolling 215/40/18 and they're stretched just a little to fit 18x8.5 wheels

I've driven around with a rejection sticker before. It was actually kind of exciting, ok not really. I ordered tires from tirerack.com and got a real good price and got them the next day after I ordered. Not sure if they can beat that price including shipping and mounting but it might be worth a look, especially if your shop doesn't have exactly what you want.

Well, got the ventas V4 ES H105's installed and balanced for $400 (after mail in rebate). My inspection sticker should be going on right about..... NOW! Only complaint about pep boys is they put the balance weights on the outside of the rim, not sure if thats necessary. I was thinkin they could put them on the inside where their ugliness isnt so prevalent.

I just bad my peoples rebalance my wheels after merchants did a really bad job(two ounces off) and they put it right on the inside of the spokes instead of farther in where you would never know they were there. Kind of annoying while washing the rims but not very noticeable. Congrats on being accepted into society again with a nice shiny sticker!
