I dont know man. Im thinking your gonna be all over the place on the highway unless they are smooth as glass. Thats wide with that little sidewall is gonna make your car track all over the place. Also much stiffer ride, not do mention probably a reduction in acceleration. The right lip and spoke design on a 17 wheel will look like 20s on a lude considering the body's profile is so skinny and still maintain some kind of ride on 215/45/17 or 205/40/17 which ever.

you could get away with 215/40/18 but you may have to get the arches rolled

18"s are gonna be bumpy no matter what tire you get.

plus why would you want all that extra weight when you could go with 17's and it would still be better on handling

Not to mention, the extra money for disposal costs for bigger tires.
The 17's are a good compromise between style and handling, plus they're usually a little lighter, depending on which you get.

Ditto, you can get 17x8's and they would be lighter than the stock wheels. (with some exceptions of course)

I had 215/40s on my 18x8.5 +35
Hankook Ventus Sport K104
Stock suspension

they only rubbed a little bit when taking corners hard in city.
They weren't very noisy at all either. The POS Pirelli P6 all season I have on my stockers are twice as loud as those hankooks. I hate these P6s

the 18s were not bumpy at all. They were stiffer than stock 205/50 with out a doubt, but not unconfortable at all.
stuck to the road even in rain
sold the wheels a couple week-ends ago... I miss them ;.;
