Striped Studs One After Another

About last week i installed coil overs for my cousins car and i only did the front part. Then after i was done with the front part, i started to go work on the rear part of the lude. I got both tires off, and i tried to take out the stock springs, but it was hard for me to do it with out spring compressors so i decided to put the wheels back on. Then the next day i rented some spring compressors and i took out the left wheel of the rear, but the right side i striped a lug nut/stud. BUT i went to go fix it. Then afterwards i tried taking it out again but another stud stripped. And then next thing you know. He's only running on ONE STUD. This was wierd, but oh well he'll get it fixed at the shop. Has this happened to anyone else?
