Need help lowering,

I really want to lower my car, and don't really have the money for coilovers... should i just buy the sleeves and put them on stock struts/shocks? Or whats the best way to go with a $500 budget?

Re: Need help lowering,

Used! Check out vapoa facebook page. Folks do part outs and sell extra parts there all the time. Julian's cool about letting people join.

Just saw some kinda coilovers fs the other day $400. Tokino maybe? Is that a brand? If not it was something like that.
Elspectro29 may have some 4th gen lowering springs fs in the not so distant future. Don't know if that would work on the bb6. I'm a stock fan.

Re: Need help lowering,

And in case that doesn't tempt you, avoid using the stock shocks together with shorter, stiffer springs. Pretty soon you'll have blown shocks and a poor ride. Search the forums for discussion in more detail -- here, I'll just say: don't do it.

Re: Need help lowering,

get some used that are still in good condition.

Craigslist is a good place to find.

Be sure to read up on how to check dampers before purchasing from the buyer.

Re: Need help lowering,

works if you are not a type-s

Coilvers are only great if you're changing stances and tracking/auto-xing. Day in and out, drop kit like above is just fine. And it's 50$ more than your bugdet.

Re: Need help lowering,

Either get some used or just get some lowering springs.
