Old lude pictures from Xceed BBQ

^^^ This my buddy's lude and it's slammed. I haven't seen one lower than his (because I don't think it gets any lower than that). Not sure how many inches from the ground it is. He has a pretty hard time getting around town with it.

Re: how low do YOU go!?

Looks good, but i agree not practical. 4th-gens have a subframe/exhaust/oilpan that hits the ground before anything else. The pic in my sig, My subframe is literally 1 inch off the ground, if it wasn't for my stiff suspension setup, I'd be scrapping the subframe/exhaust everytime.

agreed.

preludes are meant to handle in the curves. most of the "low crowed" doesn't have the suspension setup to facilitate good handling. IMO you're just wasting a car for something aesthetic.

Re: how low do YOU go!?

factory low is plenty low for my 48 year old fat @$s.
my son has a 93 lowered 2 1/4" and i almost need an electric assist to get in and out.lol

i agree with ogs there, changing elevation downgrades performance. i suppose some would argue that and they may be correct. but i feel those guys in lab coats know their stuff..

off topic, i'm thinking of putting in an accord 5th gear to highway drive at lower rpm's and maybe be on the news for getting pulled for doing 199+. but i'm afraid it'll suck performance when driving back roads or may need wings and roof flaps over 155.

Re: how low do YOU go!?

I am stock height for now. I had a 2001 civic and I was like a few inches off ground it scrapped everywhere. My exhaust would hit rocks and snow in the winter. It sounded painful. Any tging bigger than a pebble would hit.

Re: how low do YOU go!?

i wasnt asking for anyones opinion, i have already made my decision on slamming my car. i have a dedicated race car i use to race oval tracks, so im not really worried about going fast in this car. especially with my driving record.... 2 speeding tickets already. i was just wondering how far off the ground some of you guys had your car. and lowering from " x-inches from stock height" just seems like kind of a relative term to me, because different cars have different dimensions.

Re: how low do YOU go!?

Slam it bro, 2.5" all around i think is customary as a maximum, I dunno if u wanna be "stanced" but look into beefin up your ball joints or cntrl arm endlinks at that point

keep in mind your exhaust will not be able to go to 2.5 - 3" ( i think)...

I'll be lowering my car an inch maybe an inch and a half :) and I got some pretty stiff springs coming in the mail that will help not scrap

Re: how low do YOU go!?

Being slammed is dumb and you're just asking for problems. HOWEVER, I've gone through this phase before and the lowest I ever was, I had 3/4" between my crank pulley and the ground.

Re: how low do YOU go!?

Fender gap is the enemy... But im also thinking 1.5 all around for myself, so I'm not gonna be slammed. It's just not functional where I live, too many ****ty driveways and steep ones too in port coquitlam, and there isnt always parking available on the street so it does hinder u somewhat, more for car shows...

That's a pretty aggressive offset. I'm at +30 I'm a little under 2in off the ground right now.

I'd do a 205/45 or a 215/45 Those tires are gonna rub if you do 225. That would be alright fitment.. Maybe a little sunk.

What fitment are you looking for?

I'm 22.5" off the ground to the highest point in the arch in the front fender and 23.5" from ground to highest point in arch in the rears.

lowering to far compromises you suspension, you should not lower more then 2 inches, and even that might be a little much. if you lower it 2 inches and it still seems to tall to you and you still have wheel gap, get bigger wheels/tires, and lips that will make it look lower.
