I need help lowering my car

I've got a 92 Prelude SI sitting on 17x7 rims,215/45R17 tires, stock suspension. I want to lower around 2"? My question is what all will I need to buy and whats a good cheap setup with up to around $700 budget. Could I get away with some KYB GR-2's and some cheap all metal coilovers or should I go all out and get some F&F type 1 coilovers. This is my everyday driver mainly driven on mountain roads somewhat aggressively. Thanks for your time.

Re: I need help lowering my car

Well, first off, cheap and good rarely go into the same sentence together. You really don't want to put springs on OEM struts or close to OEM. The GR2s are considered an OEM replacement. I personally wouldn't put lowering springs on them. I've heard very good things about the F&F type 1s, might be worth checking into. I'm sure some others will chime in with other suggestions too, but the most common struts I hear recommended are the Koni Yellows.

Re: I need help lowering my car

Type 1's are gonna be to soft. Get type2's... Little more expensive.. But an AWESOME coil in my opinion. Love them!

But if your budget is 700$, I'd go type 1's all day!

Re: I need help lowering my car

Do you want/need adjustability? Or just lower it once and be done with it?

Id like to have adjustable cause I don't know how far a can go down safely without the tires rubbing the inner tire wells whenever I hit a bump. I've never lowered a car before so I don't really know what I want other then being lowered around 1.75"-2.25". Also ill need to get a camber kit? Do I just need to buy the front set or will I also need the rear set. One more thing should I upgrade all my bushings to polyurethane?

It's not that bad their not squeaking or anything they just have like 190,000 miles on them and I just figured lowering the car would wear them out real fast. I was thinking about putting a master set on after it was lowered maybe before.

Coilovers all the way. My buddy has bc coilovers on his 2011 si he's super slammed yet still take corners at a high speed. I think I might get a pair soon.
