wheel opinions needed!

I've been looking around for new wheels for a couple months now and I'm pretty set on getting a bronze set since I love bronze wheels on black cars. I have come across a few that have caught my eye and I just wanted to see what the PZ community has to say about them. Thanks in advance guys and girls!

I met a guy at the Castaway Critters exotics meet in Hershey, Pa today that has a set of Work Emotion XT-7s that he had on his evo for a few months. They're 17x8 or 17x8.5 (can't quite remember which) but either way, he didn't give me a number but he said he'd let them go for cheap. I'd just have to get new tires because 465whp tears through rubber pretty quick haha.

I loveeeee the works after seeing them on other cars. I'm just worried about the fitment. Do any of you have any experience with fitting 8 or 8.5" wide wheels on 5th gens? I'll look into the weapons and those gramlites look pretty hot too. I'm sure Rey make them in 5 lug too

I'm hoping they're not that wide, but I'll find out today. If they are that wide, then he'd be able to do a fender roll no problem. He's got his own garage where he built his insane s2k that he invested over 100k in (pics by request). I

Those 5 spoke prodrives are sickkk. I'm falling in love the the xt-7s the more I look at them

- that wide rims/tires doesnt increase handling
- that wide tires cost way more

Id say that max 7,5"
and perfect offset would be 45-50

They will fit no problem depending on the offset. Can you post the offset's? I would also go with the Work wheels. High quality and a real crowd pleaser. If you have questions about wheel fitment here is a link that will provide answers to all your questions.

**Official: LOW Offset Fitment Wheel Disscussion/Pic Thread** - Honda Prelude Forum : Honda Prelude Forums

8's and 8.5's are a thing of the past now and considered a mild fitment on our cars, guys are now fitting 10's and I have even heard of someone else going with 11's in the back. Again 8.5's are pretty tame.

Perfect offset for what? Your taste? And getting more rubber on the ground does translate into better handling in most cases. It's called physics..

with that offset it doesnt rub, 40- offset starts more likely rubbing game

its called physics that its harder to turn with wider tires and pulls more on tracks - not that steady to drive.

You need to do more research before you make comments to people giving bad info. Have you run wide rims yourself? Have you run the set up that he is asking about in particular? You're always so negative and quick to put your .02 cents in and in this case you couldn't be more wrong. Maybe you should check out that link I posted and see what others are running and running safely. Twisty is running an aggressive setup with 9's all around and he isn't having any problems. That's just one example. Not only that but because a guy is running a wider rim doesn't mean he's running a wide ass tire.

If you're getting your wheel offset info from the thread that is on PZ it's really kind of outdated. Things progress...

no need to do research, thats just my experience

215/45/17 with 40 offset - rubs
had to cut little bit from rear bumbers corners from inside

215/35/18 with 45-50 offset doesnt rub

lowered something ~1,5"

He hasn't said anything about what kind of suspension, if he plans to do a fender roll or pull, relocate the bumper tab, any of that. These cars can have wider wheels made to fit and also make the car handle better and it has been done over and over is what I'm getting at. Sure you're not going to put certain wheels on without having to do some work to get them to fit properly and perform for whatever application you decide. Nothing comes without work.

I'm running 235/40/17's which is equal to 9.25" wide. No rubbing for me, and the car handles better especially with north of 270hp. That's my experience.

Re: wheel opinions needed!

Thanks for the input guys! The specs on the wheels are 245/40/18. I checked em out yesterday after a huge meet down in college park Maryland. there were upwards of 3500 cars there and ONE other prelude. The guy with the wheels is a friend of mine and he said he'd roll/pull my fenders for me to get them to fit. They're a little banged up, but hey, the're works and they're dirt cheap.
@leavmdroolin, thanks for the input dude and that link looks promising (haven't checked it yet, been busy). I'll be sure to post pics of his boosted s2k soon and also pics from the meets i was to over the weekend

If the rims are in bad shape then you can have them fixed and powder coated to look like new. You can also get new work stickers and you'll be good to go. If you're getting a good deal that would be a nice addition to your ride.

You have to check out that link. Soo many nice wheels in that thread. It's long but it will be hard to turn away from your computer when you see all those good lookin Prelude's sittin fat.

Can't wait to see the pictures of the S2000 and the meet.

I checked out that thread last night after my last post and there's some sickkk fitments in there. I didn't read anything in there, I just saw the pictures. I'll read into that thread later tonight. I also scored some wings west rs sides and rears that were never installed for $220. My buddy also has a pair of red s2k seats and a pair of black that he'd let go for $350
