Damping or springs?

I've been sitting on skunk2's for a while and car used to be track driven so it's pretty bouncy, I want to slam it more but I want it to be stiffer so I don't bounce and scrape. How would I go about doing this? Adjust damping or would I have to buy a new set of stiffer springs? Pretty newbish to suspension gear

Re: Damping or springs?

Skunk2 springs or coilovers?
If springs, are there aftermarket/adjustable shocks with them?

Re: Damping or springs?

You must want to sell those BC coilovers, you post the link on every single suspension thread. Tell my why they are so good, what kind of technology is in them? What makes them different than Megan? I am not saying they are bad, I just would like more info, since the site is vague.

What do you currently have on the car damper wise?
Sounds to me that the springs and the dampers are not set up for each other. Need more info.

That's funny because I was wondering the same thing. I always see that post when a suspension question comes up

Re: Damping or springs?

Im just one happy customer ;)
when I planned to change suspension I made little research and BC was the one
which gave me the most for my money.

why not teins?

because teins are overrated.

BC BR VS TEIN SS

- cheaper than teins
- better damping than teins (22mm piston vs 46mm)
- height adjustment via bottom mount to retain full damper travel when teins doesnt have this

BC Racing only use a very high quality oil with their coilovers but go that extra mile to maximise performance and build their BR range with a large 53mm diameter damper body. This increases the capacity of the unit which increases the volume of oil contained which in turn reduces the peak temperature and so significantly improves damper performance.

+

- you can choose spring rates
- you can choose rubber or metal upper mounts

so theyre kinda almost better in every way than teins

and why not megans?

they use better materials than megans. and theyre better made than megans.
they make megans so why wuold they make their own product worse?
Im not sure is there something different inside the coilovers between those, but
megans are like cheaper version of BC. and quality costs

Atleast here in Finland BC has the most satisfied customers between
TEIN, D2, KW, BuddyClub, MeisterR, H&R, Koni, Bilstein and Ksport users

Re: Damping or springs?

Little correction on your prized BC's.....

with TEIN you can:

choose different spring rates
coilovers adjust via the bottom spring seat/mount..as most others do
you can use spherical pillow mounts, or go with your oem top hats

-unless you have first hand experience, don't talk about dampening abilities.

I'm in no way defending TEIN - I personally don't like them since the bs I had with mine. Just don't twist facts when comparing two products just to make one seem alot better than the slight difference there really is.
