I'm not sure if I'm posting this in the right section but...


I have the opportunity to purchase Volk TE37 wheels, in my research I came across two issues I may have

1) Do Volk TE37 (or volks in general) use a certain type of lug nut?

2) What thread pitch lug nut do I need?

I've looked on quite a few forums, and here, and couldn't find a definitive answer. Some said any tuner lug nut would work, and some said they use Rays specific lugs only. I called a local tire place (they are being sold without tires) and they said they didn't know.

Any help would be much appreciated.

I don't believe so.. I remember reading somewhere that the "GT" volk wheels require a specific lug. But I think any aftermarket lug will work.. But why not just get the rays volk lugs.. I mean if you're already getting Te37s why not go the full 9 and complete the setup? Haha.

as far as thread/pitch, it's the same as most hondas. Just ebay search honda lug nuts. I believe it's 12x1.5 or something like that.

Most aftermarket wheels including Volks should use a tapered seat lug. I think most aftermarket lugs are taper seat, you'd just have to get some with the correct thread. You don't have to use the Volk specific lugs. I had CE28s on a different car and used Volk and non-Volk lugs with no problems.

Most Honda lugs (IDK about the Prelude) use a round ball seat lug. It's a bad idea to use stock Honda lugs on an aftermarket wheel.

get the wheels and lugs that are supposed to be used with them.

Thanks guys. I do plan on buying Rays, but the wheels will probably be here before the lugs will get here. I was just wondering if I could temporarily use autozone cheapies for a 1-2 day test fit.

The wheels are actually first generation te37, in Bronze color, used but in good shape. This is my first set of decent wheels, I just hope they look good.

Byyyyyyyyyyy the way, sorta off topic but why do some people have "Donor" underneath their name/user name, and how come some people have green squares but I've seen a couple red squares? (right hand side under iTrader rating)

uhm no hondas from the factory use a ball style lug nut, all of the volks if seen use a acorn style lug. most guys with high end wheels like volks, works ect... get forged lugs but u dont need it

I'm getting either KICS R40 or Rays Black Standard. It's taking me a lot longer to find lugs I like compared to how long it took to find wheels. I'm picky

I do have a couple pictures of the wheels, UPS's scheduled delivery is the 24th

Does the rim say 4x100 and the sticker say 4x114.3 ? What car is this going on ?

I hope those pictures are of his own, and not the sellers.. the sticker definitely don't look like it matches the actual physical wheel's back.

Volk's are nice, good choice, i think all your questions were answered though

They're going on my 1993 prelude. I wondered about the sticker thing too, but I saw that other Volks had "4x100" stamped on the bore and the sticker read 4x114.3. The wheels fit fine though :)
