Re: Tein Coil Over Kit

I have the basics on my car, although I wish they were a little stiffer. I enjoy the ride quality and height adjustments. Look at my pictures and that is the front all the way down and the back has about another half an inch left, I say get them if its just for what you say, but I wouldn't autocross/backroad (too hard) with them.

Re: Tein Coil Over Kit

No not really, but im also in Iraq right now, but stationed in TX. So your opinoin is go for it? and what kind of ride should i expect, smoother harder or no real change? i understand they are adjustable but what real change would it mean for my car?

Re: Tein Coil Over Kit

The ride is good, I mean its Tein. Never had any problems with them so far, bought mine brand new from jhpusa. It's a stiffer ride then stock, good height settings. I mean you can't slam your car but you can make it work. Haha

I looked into and was planning on getting the tein coils for awhile. After reading forums and advice from other people i have switched my focus to function and form coils. You should look them up i have heard nothing but good things.

Thanks man, I'm running 17x8.5 +35 offset.. so I rub a bit on Sharp.turns. but mesh wheels in my opinion are the way to go.

Re: Tein Coil Over Kit

i have type flex tein coils.. fully adjustable.. on the fly with edfc for stiffness. I love them. Stock ride is like on a cloud.. tein is more rigid. you feel the ****tyness of most roads, but when u rally a windy road, u can feel more control. I did a writeup on the install years ago... good luck with the upgrade:)

Re: Tein Coil Over Kit

Kinda skimmed the thread posts, but I'm happy with my Tein Super Street Coilovers, which are the next level above the standard Tein Street Coilovers. Can't imagine there being too much of a difference. I did notice you mention BBS LM's; I hate to burst your bubble, but those are going to be pretty hard to come across in your desired size.

Re: Tein Coil Over Kit

What color is your car? If it's white; gold or white wheels would be subtle and aggressive looking. That's an example. The point is, the wheel color can add or take away from the car's overall visual appearance. Another example, rather than put black wheels in a black car, consider bronze. Bronze is a darker color, but it's still a color. Black wheels were cool in 2004, but now they're just outplayed; it's come to the point where I only think they look good on a charcoal / gunmetal gray car.

This is all just my opinion, even if I hope for less "murdered out" cars on the road.

YES!!! be creative, especially if you have a white or black car. You can put literally any color on.

You can find them on clubrsx.com.. And just about any other wheels

Be prepared to spend some cash though.. Even a good deal on those is a little bit of money

As far as tein goes.. I've never rode in a prelude with them but I have rode in other cars with teins.. Very nice ride though

I believe they are worth the money.. I wonder if someone one here has switched from teins to something else? They'd be able to compare it to others better

Re: Tein Coil Over Kit

My car is Red right now. but eventually im going to paint it Sunset Orange II. Itll be almost the same as Littlefoot's car, except a little darker with more flake. So i gotta do it right, as far as money goes. im willing to spend as much money as i have to. i realize this isnt just a quick project, itll take time but in the end i want a lude worthy of awards at car shows.

Re: Tein Coil Over Kit

i think i may go with the bronze right now, then im gunna just powdercoat them white when i paint the car, or i might leave them bronze. now i need to decide the size and offset. i wanna run a decent offset so when i do go with teins that they dont rub or cause problems with each other... ...ne ideas?

keep the stock wheels and when you get paint then get wheels you like. much easier to just get them when you can really decide what looks best with fresh paint

Re: Tein Coil Over Kit

Wait until after you get teins and then figure out what size wheel and offsets you want

It depends on what you want and how low you are.. You want flush? Flush with some meat? Little poke? Hella frush? Wrong size wheels with shaved/torn tires? Lol
