ground controls legit or no?

Ok guys. So I normally dont post many threads but Im really needing some help here. I've found a set of used ground controls. Heres the link Ground Control coilovers Honda Prelude

Now the first thing that confused me is he said they fit 92-01 preludes. Im honestly not the smartest guy when it comes to suspension mods. Are 4th gen and 5th gen coilovers interchangeable? I always thought they werent.

Now the second thing is that he said they would fit any struts except for koni's. Ive always seen ppl use gc's and koni yellows. I asked the guy about it and he said that ground control makes 2 types of coilovers. One that fits koni's and one that fit all others. Is this bs or a fact?

He said the part numbers are
Front: GC200.64.66
Rear: GC200.64.44

Ive looked up the numbers and only found something on the rear part number. But springs came up. Not coilovers. But anyways. I would really appreciate some clariffication if anybody can help. Thanks alot guys

I tried ordering some Koni/GC setup once seperately and those ground controls do fit differently. They have a set for especially koni's and another set for any other strut as you have said.

P.S. I have no clue on those parts number though.

Yeah thats what the guy told me. He said he kinda worded it wrong. That they made a set especially for the koni's because they are slightly different than other struts. And the other ground controls will fit any other strut. Im still giving it some time. The guy said he'll take $180. Good deal?

Re: ground controls legit or no?

Honestly, if your not really looking to track or worry too much about a smooth ride and only need it for the looks, i say go for it. But i don't know too much about ground controls with any other struts besides koni's though. A friend of mine had some tokico's with ground controls in his integra and after a while, it became bumpy. But we have terrible roads here. Check this link out. Should answer your question.

Re: ground controls legit or no?

I have GC/Koni and they ride nice. I wouldn't buy them used because you can get GC's for $339.00 brand new and if you look around a bit you can find them even a little bit cheaper. Tons of Honda lovers use them for racing over full blown coilovers. I have a few friends with these as well and I have heard no complaints. I would someday like to upgrade to JIC Magic but for now these will do fine.

BTW I don't have these on my Prelude, I have them on my 5-speed Accord.

The only racing the lude would see is going down the quarter mile. So are u saying you wouldnt buy them cos you can get them new for about $340 or so? The guy said he would take $180. Thats a pretty good difference. Lol.

I am just kind of skeptical about used parts. My attitude is this is my fun car, not my daily driver so I want to make sure that it's right and not cut corners. You never know what someone has done to something when they had it. If you're short on cash go for it, but if you're just trying to save some ends you might end up spending more in the end.
