Quick suspension suggestion

For my 5th gen prelude, Should i go Ksport kontrol pro or Funtion and form type 1's? I would like to stay under a grand if possible otherwise i would've gone with type 2's. No tracking for me, Just for looks and a few quick turns here and there(oh and i need a smooth ride, which i've browsed and found that type 1's might be it). I know the Ksport's are a bit more expensive than the type 1's, but is it worth that extra hundred dollars? Any other suggestions?

Re: Quick suspension suggestion

I had KSport coilovers on my last 240 and I loved them. I don't have any experience with the FF Type I coilovers though.

Re: Quick suspension suggestion

you'll be hard pressed to find anyone who's tried both. and IMO, just looking at the features, they don't have much to compare.

F&F have twin tube, non adjustable shocks...

ksport have single tube and adjustable shocks...

the twin tube is good for the added comfort.. but the durability suffers slightly they're not really meant for racing. which is fine since you said you don't want to track the car. but with the lack of adjustability, if you think its still to harsh you can't dial it down any. the type II however, does have adjustability and twin tube.

It should be noted, however, that 90% of adjustable dampers SUCK.

With both coilovers having threaded shock bodies, I don't see the point of having adjustable damping, especially for a DD. Personally, I say go with FF Type I coilovers. I do like the KSport coilovers, but for the price, I think the FF are a better deal.

Re: Quick suspension suggestion

For what u said u wanted them for I would get the f&f type 1
How much have you found the type 1's for? Weksos has them for $600 that's the lowest I found since I have been looking into a different setup to get

Re: Quick suspension suggestion

i am considering the F&F type 1 from weksos, At first it was the koni/GC setup but i don't think i'll be needing all that... i've heard nothing but good stuff from weksos too.

hopefully 1-3" should be enough for my car to sit nicely on my zigens.

I like the Koni/GC set-up myself. Rides great and corners on rails.

What 5zigens are u getting? I think pro racer gn+ would look really good on a lude (bronze)

If anyone has ksport or f&f type 1's post up a pic and give us you set up (wheels size, tire size, how much your lowered/setting)

Why is that? I know quite a few heads rolling with Tein and not just on Preludes but other Honda's and Acura's and they aren't complaining. I haven't heard anything bad about them, not to say they are the greatest just curious as to why you think they're junk.

For the price you pay for Tein, the quality doesn't show. They're not terrible, but they're way overpriced.

Re: Quick suspension suggestion

Sorry to bring this thread back up, but with the function&form type 1's, could someone inform me about top hats with this suspension setup? Will stock tophats work?
