so my girlfriends brother hooked me up with a free alignment @ STS on saturday

the MAIN problem that i'm trying to fix is my RIGHT REAR tire has been replaced twice since february/march. only an INCH of the inner corner has been worn down, not gradually from inside-outside like regular camber wear.
you can see it real good below:



so BEFORE anything was touched/adjusted, the rear tires were at:
Left Right
Camber: -2.7* -2.7*
Toe: 0.26* -0.07*


so camber clearly WASN'T the cause, or else the left tire woulda done the same.
but if it was toe, the left side was much more out of spec than the right, so the left side shoulda worn faster

are our cars ok with a shiitload of positive toe, rather than a tiny amount of negative toe??

Toe is what wears tires. On a fifth gen I think the specs are -0.08 - +0.08 on the rear toe.

yea, so in that case, the LEFT tire should be the one that's wearing fast since its 3.5 times more outta spec than the right tire, which is the problematic tire.

i tried seeing if anything was rubbing the inside corner, but didn't find anything on the knuckle/BJ/UCA, nothing.

The left rear tire, being so out of spec, literally "dragged" the right one to the left. Toe is very touchy and on some cars affect the opposite side that's not out of spec. I see this shiz everyday at work mang lol Anyother ?'s

hmmmmm, interesting. never thought of that evan

well, now that my rear toe is; L: 0.06, R: 0.08, lets hope all is well.



i guess i'll install the camber kit on the rears and see if i can get them within like -1 degree haha.

jahhhh. pretty sure he said to improve the toe, the camber had to be sacrificed. at least on the RR.

but since the toe is now in spec, and the camber kits are for 1.5-3*, the camber should come in very close.

Damn, I would've at least balanced each side within .2* Your steering will be more responsive on one side than the other. Try to get them to readjust it to around the same *.

Wow! I bet you right tire wear problems occured from the rear or the vehicle "dogtracking" due to both tires pointing the same way the vehicle just kindof settled in a spot that made the left tire happy and scrubbed off the rear. I just got my camber corrected with ball joints and not only did it push the wheels out REALLY flush with the fender it drives WAY better. They got it next to perfect and within factory specs.
