Just trying to learn more

okay so i have Koni yellows with eibach sport lowering springs on my car.

when we first put them on we put the metal spring mount on the shock upsidedown therefore giving the car even more of a drop. Driving it for a while it would bottom out every so often when hitting a decent bump at speeds 30 or over. So just this past weekend we flipped that metal mount on the rear shocks so far and noticed it raised the car 1.5" to 2" and when i drive it, it feels awesome but i don't like the look as much lol.

Im gonna fix the front to, so the car will run better but out of curiosity anyone know a way to keep the car from bottoming out and handling better with the car lowered(other than just going slow..)

i feel theres not much i can do except maybe get really stiff springs but i just bought this so not doing that.

Im just not very educated in the stance field and im trying to learn all i can.

get a better setup. that's an entry level setup that you got. perhaps some coilovers so you can actually adjust the height to your liking. for some reason people seem to love ground control coilovers. but they will not actually improve your handling that much. just lower you more. there is a lot you need to learn about suspension; lower and stiffer don't necessarily mean better handling. shocks control the handling more then the springs. thats why i think its important to not mix spring and shock companies. like for example, if you buy tein springs and shocks, the shocks are built to handle the performance characteristics of the springs and the springs are designed within the specs range of the shocks. kind of like a harmony. they work together. when you mix and match, chances are you get springs that are to stiff for the shocks. and the shocks can't do their job which is basically to control/slow/stop the movement of the springs.

perhaps get yourself a stiffer sway bar for the back. get a decent set of tires. maybe go a little wider on the tires too. from your sig it looks like you got stock wheels which i think 205s are recommended for those wheels. 215s should do you well. just remember to go a little smaller on the ratio. like 40 or 45 i think. some poly bushings. that makes a huge difference the older your car is. some people swear by strut tower bars. they help. but i think they help the least out of what i recommended so far.

installing it properly is a must. other then that, like i was saying using parts that are compatible. shocks and springs that are designed to work together. any "sport" shock is really a stock replacement. designed for a lowering of course too, but as stiff as sport/race springs are, they tend to be more stiff then what a "sport" shock might be designed to handle.

Re: Just trying to learn more

i actually have ground control coilovers, i took them off to put these koni and eibachs on. i have thought about trying to put the sleeves on the konis though.

i have also thought about getting a new sway bar but wasnt sure if i needed one

the tires are the stock tires, yes 205. im planning on getting new rims and tires this spring/summer once i get my graduation money.

i really appreciate your help, thanks
