Icon9 Help suspension problem!!!

So we got about six inches of snow today and I was driving home from work and made a turn at a very slow speed on an unplowed road hit a patch of ice and slid into a curb (front passenger side wheel) now my wheel is pushed back a little bit, just enough to rub when I turn the wheel and it is pointed inward slightly. I know it's gonna need to be re aligned but what else is wrong with it. Any feedback is apreciated

Re: Help suspension problem!!!

i did this a coupla years ago too. how fast were you going when you hit?

when looking at the wheel/side of the car, and the wheel is pushed backwards, most likely a bent LCA, and maybe UCA. If you were going decently fast, the radius rod coulda pulled the front subframe back too.
if the wheel is turned inwards, hopefully it's just a tie-rod, but it could possible be the steering rack too.

Re: Help suspension problem!!!

if you bring it to a shop, it's gonna cost way too much. there's a possibility they would wanna total it too if there is subframe damage, and if you have alotta miles on the car. thats doubtful, but still a possibility.
the cheapest a shop would charge is like $500, and thats with minimal damage, cuz shops loveeeeeee "finding" more things that are wrong that need replacing, like ball joints, bushings, axles, bearings, etc.... could be up to 1500

if you have the tools and time, i would highly highly highly recommend attempting yourself. you could prolly buy the LCA, UCA, tie rod, and radius rod for $150 at most.
