Anyone on Tanabe Sustec Pro-S OC?

5th Gen Preludee Basee
- I'm new to the whole coilover and suspension set-ups.

I was looking around and around for info on set ups when I had my 5th gen Accord but never had the money.

My brother just got the Tanabe Sustec Pro-Oc and they are stiffer than stock but not unbearable (on HIS 5th gen ACCORD). Gives him plenty of drop.
My prelude feels stiffer than his accord on stock but not as stiff as his coilovers.
(For you picture whores, like me =] )

Was wondering if anyone was running the set up and how does it feel compared to stock on the prelude.
EDIT: pictures of your ride would help! + Tire size.. and How low you are on the coilovers. (As in the thread.. all the way. half way ..etc)

The other ones i was looking into are the Teins coilovers .. the basic i think.

(Some more =] )

I can get either one for 840 flat.

Thanks!

Most people here use Koni Yellows or Tiens (I see ground control springs a bunch), I can't speak from experience but I am sure others will chime in soon enuf.

Edit: I forgot about KYB and Tokico also good pretty popular...

Re: Anyone on Tanabe Sustec Pro-S OC?

i know i posted this a while back. but it is my thread..

anyways, i was still looking into getting the tanabes for 840 flat no tax..

but since tanabe is out of stock on them, i was wondering what you guys can tell me about the

Koni and ground controls?

the tanabe are 8front and 4back.

what spring rate do people usually get on the ground controls and whats the price on them?
i see they go for about 300-400bucks a piece? or is that for all 4?

and which konis should i be looking into?

.... so i want a ride that looks dropped. the main reason is to drop it for looks.
but if i can get a better ride from it, as in handling and what not, then i dont mind spending a little more..

i currently have the $850. i do have more money but im taking a trip to SF soon so i cant be spending everything right now.

.. i want the car dropped to get rid of the gap.. haven't measured it . sorry.
id also kind of like to have a very small wheel tuck but we'll have to see if i can bare with it hahah

thanksss

EDIT: almost forgot the picture for your viewing pleasure.

Yeah, you can be slammed with koni yellows, take your little white firmness tool, start adjusting your firmness to make your konis stiff.

^When you combine this with high spring rate springs/coilovers = no body roll, better handling, great stance. You will also not bottom out as much because you won't have the typical, everyday tuner car that you see their rear end hopping down the street.

Best Regards,

Koni Yellows

450 is a good spring rate. I think GC goes up to 900 and that is crazy stiff.

Re: Anyone on Tanabe Sustec Pro-S OC?

funny how everyone says go koni and gc and no one has anything to say.

how do those spring rates compare to regular spring rates?

tanabe and tien are 8front and 4 back.. whats a 450 from gc?
my brother has an accord with 6front and 4back on tanabes. they are stiffer than stock but nothing crazy. doesn't feel "unbearable" ..
