17" wheels on a 1st gen?

i have a friend with a civic with 17" wheels and he wants to trade me for my 15s but i really don't thing they will fit on my 1st gen... does anybody know for sure if they will or will not

its 4x100 but i think the wheel itself would be to big for the car, it really looks like if i put it on there i wouldn't be able to turn

IMO i dont like big rims, look into buying some 16" if youre worried about turn clearance

Agreed. Is the 1st gen's pattern 4X100 or 4X114.3 though?

it might be 4x114.3... the wheels off of a 96 civic fit on it with out a problem

I think civics are 4X100 though right? Unless they are uni-lug wheels.

they might be uni-lug wheels a haven't looked that closely at them all i know for sure about them it that they are 17 inch icw gun metal with a polished lip

1st gens have 4x100 bolt pattern, 17's arn't all they're cracked up to be homie, the ride quality is crappy and they are heavy which ultimately leads to a slower car plus the straight line, dry road traction isn't there because the tires don't have any give to them

i had them on my car today but didn't drive it and i've decided to keep my 15" steel wheels, thanks for your input it really has helped alot with making the decision... my car is a driver its not for show
