bapped a curb!

i recently bapped a curb and was wondering if anyone could give me some worst case scenarios? my steering wheel is now turned to the passenger side and my wheel is bent in. i checked the lower control arm and it seems like it may have been bent? but can't really tell. could i just get away with an alignment? and my coolant seems to have drained out completely! don't know if it's from hitting the curb or before that. don't see any cracks or leaks and just had a coolant change about 15k miles ago.

Re: bapped a curb!

Wow if your coolant is leaking you must have really whapped the curb. Get that car on a lift asap. More than likely you bent your sway bar end link (most fragile piece) and possibly your radius arm and bushings. Those are the most common for any sort of wheel impact but it could be more. You really need to get it up in the air though to check the radiator etc.

Re: bapped a curb!

how fast were you going?

control arms, endlinks, and radius rods would be the first thing i'd check. put the entire front end up in the air, take both wheels off, and start taking measurements to see whats bent.

Re: bapped a curb!

Ya what he said! HAHA...

The reason I know... I was ran off the road several years ago in mine and BIAACH slapped a curb from the side. I pulled the radius arm out of the front support, ripped all the bushings to shreds and twisted the sway bar end link to nothing. I was lucky and my control arm was ok. That's going to be the bank breaker. I hit up a junk yard on the radius arm and bought a new end link and radius bushings from the dealer.

Re: bapped a curb!

The funny thing about mine was it was an Acura MDX, prob a customer of ours here at the dealership, that ran me off the road. I tried to get a tag number but it was too late. I totally would have busted her too, I have access to nearly any Acura's tag# here in Jax, as long as they've been in for service.

i don't know if i would be unable to drive or not if i bent it, i know i didn't crush it cuz i didn't see any damage but they said it's bent slightly. i was hoping anyone would tell me in case they tryin to gip me but i would end up doing it all myself anyways. so any extra expense would me buying an unnecessary part.
