Re: thinkin bout lowering back end? any ideas

Re: thinkin bout lowering back end? any ideas

ok maybe i should reword it.. why JUST the back, and NOT the front?

putting bigger rims won't do it. if you try to fill in the space with tire, you're only gonna jack up the car even higher off the ground. making it look even more retarded. if you keep the same tire diameter its gonna be the same space.

^that was a little harsh, but I agree.

I understand why you wanna lower just the back end. I would personally lower the car all around or get a coilover setup. With a coilover setup you can decide how high or low you'd like your car. You can decide how high or low you'd like each corner to sit in all reality. All 4 spring setups could be set at different heights. You'll end up spending probably double what you pay for a good lowering kit for a coilover setup though.

On the opposite side, if you wanna just lower the back, find someone parting out a lowered lude and see if you can't buy their rear springs or coilovers. You could even purchase a lowering kit new, and just sell the fronts. Its all up to you and what kind of money you have.

Re: thinkin bout lowering back end? any ideas

lemme get your rationale straight......

lowering ONLY the rear will level the car out?????

since they don't sell lowering springs or coilovers ONLY for the rears (cuz everyone else does the logical solution and lower the entire car) i guess your stuck cutting your stock springs. lmao

Re: thinkin bout lowering back end? any ideas

than something isn't right with your car, it should be sitting level, +/- like .25", which would barely be a noticeable difference at stock height.

Re: thinkin bout lowering back end? any ideas

I doubt someone would raise a car but back to the point. Putting on bigger wheels will only increase the open space and make the car look funny. Is there any reason you dont want lowering springs or coilovers for the whole car? and if you dont like that route what about putting on a lipkit to create i lower look. I will say go for coilovers though. Youll be happy you did

Re: thinkin bout lowering back end? any ideas

Yeah that was the first thing that came to my mind was cutting them or torching them which are both really dumb things to do to your springs. GL with whatever you decide to do.
