What to do???

So I need to lower my car and I don't really even know where to start. I wanted to drop it probably 1.5 in the front and 1.3 in the back. but do I just need to get the springs or do i have to get a whole dampening kit?

Re: What to do???

suspension is all about personal preference. what one person likes you may not like. but if you're looking for good quality and don't care what you spend, might as well go all out. coilovers are a must. tein has a wide array of products. JIC has some great quality coilovers. i as well as daryl (ogsmackdade) own a set of JICs. ksport is another option. function and form is another. do some research, see whats out there, what are your options when it comes to adjustability of dampening force. spring rate. twin tube vs mono tube. there are many different variables to suspension. tein even has the ability to adjust the dampening force on the fly... while you're driving. its called EDFC. thats straight baller status. anyways, decide what you want and then go from there.

Re: What to do???

Well I did some research and what about the Eibach Pro or the Koni Yellow for shocks. and then looked at Tein springs. I know that coil overs are adjustable but I heard a few years ago that they were not that great of a ride but not from a reliable source but how do they ride compared to springs? is coilovers being adjustable their only plus and why is that so important?

Thanks

Re: What to do???

eibach and koni are 2 good companies. good quality.

i've owned 2 different suspension setups. one was the toklico blues. and my other setup now the JICs. main difference between the 2 is the handling difference. the comfort was hardly noticeable. yeah with coilovers, you're generally gonna get a more harsh ride. but thats what the adjustability is for. you can soften it up with out much compromise to the supurb handling.

the wonderful thing also about coilovers is the key to a well handling setup is having a well matched set of springs and shocks. you want them to compliment each other. with coilovers there is no guess work. since the springs and shocks are made from the same company they compliment each other.

and like i said, what someone else likes you might not. just because someone says the eibach and koni setup is a great setup doesn't mean you'll like it. you may think the H&R and konis are better.

to answer your last question. the plus about coilovers is more then the adjustability. its the features, functions, or options that different coilovers have. coilovers handle better because of the adjustability. and like i said previously, the shocks and springs compliment eachother.
