Ground Controls

When I bought my Prelude about a year ago. It already had GC's installed on them with stock struts. I don't know how long they were on there for, but they look pretty weathered.

I wanna know what is the life of the springs? I've had it raised and replaced the struts with KYB AGX's and I'm still get a horrid ride. It has gotten a lot better with the struts, but still horrid to say the least. I'm bottoming out a lot. Pretty much every dip I hit.

So do you need to replace em and what spring rate should go for if I do and if I should just get away from GC's all together and pair the AGX with something new all together.

Also on a side note. My whole right side seems to be jacked. the rear makes a sound like it's rubbing, more so on right turns. Which doesn't make sense to me considering it's the right side and the front is making some scary ****ing sounds.

When I fully turn right I get a sound like scraping and metal chatter then it stops. [I'm not too sure if this happens on left turn, but I'll check in the morning], but it's some scary ****ing ****.

Any help is much appreciated guys.

thanks in advance.

Re: Ground Controls

I've had my GC's and KYB AGX's for about 5 years now with no problem at all.

Re: Ground Controls

It could be the spring rate? When you order them you can choose what shock setup you are running. That should affect what the spring rates are.

Re: Ground Controls

Mine does the same thing. Figured out I have them set toooo low. Just raise them up some and problem should be solved.

Re: Ground Controls

i've got them as well and i had the same problems. a lot of times when i would break, there would be a giant bang noise from the back right. and also going around right turns the back right would knock. that was when it was almost as low as it could go. since then i raised it up about an inch and everything seems to work fine now. it rides a lot better too
