Re: Wheel size

Agreed.

A 225/45R16 can fit pretty well without too many issues depending on the offset of the wheel and how much you've dropped. Keep in mind this is less than 5% extra tread width. 15's look...

Re: Wheel Offset choice

Despite your best efforts TypeT, saying nothing is sometimes just as helpful.

A 17x8 +38 with a 225/40R17 is basically the same specs as what I run so should fit just fine unless you plan on...

Re: Wheel Offset choice

All depends on what width & diameter.

I've run 16x8 +38 Enkei's on the front and 16x7 +32's on the rear with 225/40R16's all round and still have a decent fender clearance with below legal ride...

Re: 4 lug to 5

Been done, a lot. Just have to swap the knuckles, F&R rotors and rear hubs if you have a VTEC, you'll need calipers too if you have an S/Si.

Please search are there are multiple write-ups.

Re: Best racing seats for 4th gen

I looked at that for mine, not a small feat but could be possible. The stock rail has a number of extra brackets to hold the back and bottom of the seat in place, as well as all the related...

Re: Good big brake kit...

Hey, me too and me too. Probably would have been helpful if you led with that, looks like I skipped over that post. Why do you need a handbrake on a track car?

What exactly are you trying to...

Re: Good big brake kit...

Big brake kit for the street? No need IMO. The stock brakes on the VTEC model Preludes are nice and relatively big, also cheap and bolt straight on. If you have an S/Si then swap the bigger stock...

Re: Best racing seats for 4th gen

No matter what you get, you'll need seat rail adapters. There are no aftermarket seats that'll bolt straight in to a Prelude.

Re: Tachometer off after new wheels

Tach is connected straight to the ICM in the distributor, nothing drivetrain related can throw it off. Might just be a coincidence?

Re: Jdm Type S Full swap into 01 SH

And yes, if you use the JDM ECU then you'll have around a 112mph speed cut.

Re: Aftermarket steering wheel

Suede is nice but will get very dirty and gross on a daily driver.

As for steering wheels, can't go wrong with anything with Nardi or Momo written on it. If you want to go cheaper then check your...

Re: Painted Calipers - Brake Upgrade

x2 for build thread.

Very nice looking 'lude you've got going, I like the little tasteful little mods. Especially good you stayed away from the go-fast red calipers.

Re: Cold Air Intake and Weather Conditions in Toronto

What SoFlaKidd means to say is, short ram intakes suck.

Yes, your stock intake is a cold air intake, it draws air in through the front fender. Assuming your stock system is still complete, there...

Re: vtec solenoid

Pretty common problem with these things. Usually they only need a new set of seals and are good to go, probably don't need a whole new solenoid from the stealership.

Re: Aluminum Radiator Install—Will I Need New Shroud?

It looks like in that link there are posts at the top and bottom of the rad for the stock fans to bolt up to. It'd be easy enough to take the fans out and see if they bolt up before swapping the rads...

Re: Full Exhaust Overhaul

I was listening through headphones. You're right, at idle and low RPM it has a nice low note, just saying the high RPM stuff is not to my taste. Not an attack, just an opinion. If you love it then...

Re: Full Exhaust Overhaul

Nice vid. It sounds a little high pitched/raspy for my taste though, is it like that in person? Did you bother with a resonator in the middle or is it a straight pipe from the cat to the muffler?

Re: Full Exhaust Overhaul

The best of the old off-the-shelf headers are getting harder to come by for Preludes. SMSP, RMF, Hytech, SSR, Mugen etc. are practically unobtainium nowdays since they're not being produced anymore....

Re: I'm sure it's been covered...

Another great read:

Re: I'm sure it's been covered...

If it has the stock ECU then it can't be tuned. Prelude's run a bit rich from factory too.

It all depends on how/where you drive, that sort of mileage is quite acceptable if you drive mostly in a...

Re: :::Tassievteclude::: Tassie's 1994 JDM BB1

Dang, long time no updates.

^^ Not sure what you mean there. For what purpose exactly? I currently run about a 78% nitrogen blend, with around 21% oxygen and 1% of other stuff mixed in.

It might be time to stop laying faith in what this mechanic has said.

Re: Extreme oil loss situation!

^^ good point, not much help to the OP now though. Unfortunately, if it is the rings then it may be cheaper to get another motor than repair the one you have.

Do you happen to know if the...
