Turtle Wax Ice - Liquid Polish

Has anyone tried this stuff? I bought a bottle at Walmart yesterday for right under $20 (incld. Tax). It came with a 16oz bottle, a applicator pad, and a decent sized Mircrofiber cloth. I bought it because I saw the ad on tv for it, and read an article online.

Pros-
You can apply in direct sunlight
You apply, let it haze (3-5 mins), and lightly buff off
No white residue
Much faster than normal wax
You can apply to vinyl, plastic, etc., without a residue.
Looks better and lasts longer than normal wax

Cons-
Price is considerably higher than normal wax

This is what I gathered from the article, web site, and package. Has anyone used it yet? I am curious as to how well it works, because I won't get to use mine until a week from tomorrow. (Headed to Fl on vacation.) If no one has used it, I will write a better review next weekend!

Im only 16 too, but I had just gotten paid, so I was feeling generous!
It says the spray works great in between major waxes, but I wanted to buy LED light bars too, so I only got the polish.

I've used it, it's a pretty solid product. I'd say go for it!

Me and my friends used the past polish and liquid claybar stuff this week end. The claybar was great was not as good as real claybar but took about 1/4 the time and was almost as good. The wax was ok not the best but was decent. If your looking for showroom this is not it. If your looking for something that takes 20-30 mints and look great this is what you need.

Kinda like a normal clay bar but in liquid form. Just put it on rag and do like you would the clay bar

The idea behind a clay bar is that it takes all the little bit of sand, dirt, grit and all other crap that's been embedded in your clear coat out. I've seen some do a great job and others take paint off, so be careful with them.

I've heard great things about the Meguires one, but never used one myself. Maybe a little later I'll give one a go.

I AGREE!! if you are anal like me turtle wax is perfect. i detail my car 1-3 times a week if i have the time. it really doesn't last long enough if you don't have a lot of time.

PPl like to take crap about about turtle wax. I say let the pics do the talking, is this the best job ever? No but it took me 30 mints to do and is dame good more so if you seen how it is most the time. I used NuFinish but when i did my friends the turtle wax ice and it was about the same.

I wash my car with Blue Coral and wax with Turtle Wax. I like it better than Mother's and Meguire's. I do use Mother's clay bar though. Blue Coral s also part of Rain-X and Shell, 2 other companies I swear by.

I have Turtle Wax Ice.

I tied it at first because it went on easy and left a decent shine. I loved how it dried clear which was great for a quick shine. There was no white chalky residue and it didn't stain the side skirts.

Problems:

It attracted wasps like there was no tomorrow. In the morning I would have to hose them off of my car just to get in. Any time I was stopped at a light I would have to have the windows up because they were swarming the car. I don't know what is in that stuff that drives the wasps around here crazy, but I had to stop using it because of that.

My car is black, and like most cars that have been driven on the highways has teeny tiny rock chips in the hood. Some of these chips are like pin pricks. The Turtle Wax ice would get into these little chips and for lack of a better term, pool in them. Because of it's oily texture it wouldn't dry. So when buffing the hood it would leave little streaks around these chips in the paint. Again because it is oily, you could stand and buff and buff and buff only to achieve the same result.

It's a good product, but it could be better.

Re: Turtle Wax Ice - Liquid Polish

I would highly recommend you claybar a car before you wax. The best claybar would be from a local detail shop supplier. (look them up in the phonebook)
