Lucas Oil Stabilizer

Lucas Heavy Duty Oil Stabilizer : Lucas Oil

DISCLAIMER: USE AT YOUR OWN RISK! RESULTS WILL VARY. DO NOT USE IF UNSURE OF MOTOR'S CONDITION.

Vehicle: 1996 GMC SUBURBAN
Mileage:232,000 miles
Existing problems:
-consume oil
-stalling/sputtering at highway speeds
-underpowered

I always seen the bottle and played with the demo case, but never took the product serious. I know VTEC prelude owners use it and I seen it stop the black exhaust unless under high rpms.

I did my oil changed, down 2/5.5 quarts and added the entire bottle then added the motor oil. Warning: this stuff is a mess if you spill it, so pick up a funnel too. I added the stuff as the first quart, took the longest. Added 5w-20 oil (it's winter time) then warmed up the truck. Nothing at first. Nothing a week from then. All of a sudden, I don't have stalls or power loss. My truck moves(better than before the Lucas) and I have to wait on the consumption, but so far great results. I will report back after 1000miles, 2k, 3k, and next change. I got noticeable power back. Probably will buy me more time before buying another engine, aiming for 300,000 miles now.

I would recommend this to people with FRM walls, oil burning issues, and people who rebuilt or swapped in new engines. If the parts are not worn yet, replace 1 quart of your oil with this junk.

I've used it with the last two oil changes in my van. 100k so I figured some mobil 1 and lucas would keep her healthy

Re: Lucas Oil Stabilizer

I used their Synthetic Oil Stabilizer (it's thinner and made specifically for synthetic oils) in my last change, and it has made a huge difference. I'm running Amsoil 5W30, Wix filter (part # 51334) and this stuff and there has been a noticeable drop in noise and a huge reduction in the time it takes to build oil pressure (as checked by a guage). I will certainly be using it plenty in the future.

Oh, and my baby is just a few hundred away from 190K miles, still running beautifully.

Mine is at around 191K now (I don't know for sure because my VSS went out a couple hundred miles ago).

Lucas is great stuff. I've used it a lot and recommend it all the time. The Lucas Transmission Stop Slip is good stuff as well.

Re: Lucas Oil Stabilizer

I forgot, being in the frigid north climate, as much as it protects from cold starts, let your ride warm up 3-5 minutes (if you are also up north). It does raise your oil pressure, so get a quality filter, like wix, napa gold, mobil1, purolator, to name a few.

Re: Lucas Oil Stabilizer

I pored some into my motor once but not enough but I feel like it helped a bit. This stuff is SO thick and stringy and like you said it will make a big mess that's for sure it's kinda like honey. Glad to see members are having great results with it! Any mire luders feel strongly about how good this stuff is? Will prob by a bottle to top of my oil:)

In case you didn't know if you stab a hole on the bottom of the bottle while pouring it in, it takes a quarter of the time lol. That stuff is super sticky/stringy!

Re: Lucas Oil Stabilizer

I think adding most any 75-90 weight oil would do the trick. We use it at work for some of our machines and it seems to help.

Re: Lucas Oil Stabilizer

Directions come on the bottle, but replace one of every five quarts with 1 quart lucas.

Four qt oil + one qt lucas?? So damn hard to explain!

I sell the **** out of this stuff. Lots of my customers swear by it, and I use it every oil change in all vehicles. Lucas makes numerous really good products, and I highly recommend their DEEP CLEAN fuel injector cleaner and the Octane Booster.

Re: Lucas Oil Stabilizer

Update:
Mileage: 233,848

Power remains, no problems coming back. Oil still has a nice hue to it. I used 5 quarts of 5w-20 i got as a gift, burned through a quart, seeing it is underrated. I added 10w-30 from my inventory, hasn't gone down even a little since.

I haven't ventured to lucas's other products, but should I need to replace a liquid, why not.

Is all still well as I'm sure you've changed your oil by now.
Did you use it again?

Re: Lucas Oil Stabilizer

Well, as the first post says, you really gotta know the condition of your motor before use. Any extra work your motor can't handle will be multiplied until the oil mix warms up. So no go for last leg motors. I got like 24 bottles of oil so i'm good until summer

Re: Lucas Oil Stabilizer

Think I'll stay with the 4oz of zinc additive in that motor.

The entire 15oz makes it quieter, but like you said, thicker in winter could be that last straw..
That last straw is one heavy sumbeech.

It is 25* without wind chill, the 10w-40 takes 8 minutes minimum before moving. I do give it about 10. If I used lucas... RIP Helga

Re: Lucas Oil Stabilizer

Max life is on my list at next oil change... moly and zinc in a 5w30.

I don't use synth in my B21's. So far I haven't found any max life conventional. Only the blend or full synthetic. Once the leaks are all plugged I'll go with the good stuff since it will stay in the crankcase instead of on the blitz pan.

Re: Lucas Oil Stabilizer

Um, good job relying on a youtube video of a guy using the retarded case to prove a point?

It's like you didn't even bother to read the review. I don't take that display seriously because even if you could reach 400rpm spinning with your hand, you only poorly prove that the stuff is bad for a wankel rotary engine. The MORON also did not take in the factor that engines burn hot, with an average chamber temp of about 1200-2000f, not a nice 72*F sunny day. Also since you missed chemistry class, oxygen is needed to COMBINE with fuel, its the essential part of the 4 cycle combustion motor. So hot motor oil isn't going to suspend any oxygen bubbles from the magic 400rpm gears inside the engine block.... Oh wait. THERE ARE NONE.

Now if he is talking about the engine oil foaming up, don't overfill the motor and allow the car to reach operating temps before driving. If he's so worried, cut out 1/2 a quart of oil out of the capacity so there is no risk of oil frothing.

I already made up my mind to stay using a heavier weight oil until I can swap the current motor. I just need the internals to last a little longer then I can use whichever grade I want. I am glad you have a car that doesn't require the additional protection and hope you never will. For the fest of us trying to dodge the repair, can skate by on lucas oil stabilizer.

Re: Lucas Oil Stabilizer

Amsoil guy selling Amsoil. He had to read from a brochure to indicate why you don't use additives in Amsoil. I like Amsoil. But will not buy any from that guy.

Rank amatuer selling products based on fear so his wife can have store bought titties and he can have a bigger boat...

Using that contraption, the bigger bubbles are going to be in the thicker liquid.
