Black Magic Tire Wet Wax

So i though of buying some tire shine for my tires instead of putting Armor all just to see how long it would last. I look at the Black Magic Tire Wet Wax and it claimed to last 4-5 weeks. Well it didn't even last a week after mild conditions. I followed the instructions as directed and cleaned my tires thoroughly after washing my car. Then applied the gel with the applicator pad that was provided. I put a nice thick coat but not to thick so that it runs. Its my daily driver and after about 6-7 weeks i noticed that the so called wax was gone with a small patches of shine.
Needless to say i will not purchase this again. I currently applied it again to my tires and waiting to see how long it last this time.
The only positive on this is that when first applied it looks really good but for $8 i would rather buy try something else that actually works instead of clamming to last 4-5 weeks and stating its the longest lasting in their line up of products.

Re: Black Magic Tire Wet Wax

Confused...did you mean to say it only lasted 6-7 days, out of the expected 4-5 weeks?

Thanks for the heads up though.

Weeks? Maguiars tire shine is a gel, like slimer from ghost busters. Try that one. If you put any shine through the ringer, it's gonna wear off. If its rain, half the time it's gonna stay, USA notorious for acid rain. I only use it on sunny weekends, cause I know they don't last longer than 2-3 weeks. My.02.

Re: Black Magic Tire Wet Wax

I like black magic tire wet. I like it in the aerosol can. Mine lasts me a good 2-3 weeks easily.

Re: Black Magic Tire Wet Wax

Tire shine, when let sit stagnant, will slowly start to dry-rot your tires. How do I know? I bought a set of AP1 wheels for my 99 with almost brand new Dunlops that looked like **** because they had been shined before they were put away for two years. There's a strange waxy coating covering them and the sidewalls are cracked slightly. I prefer not to use it, personally.

Re: Black Magic Tire Wet Wax

Tires rot on their own, tire shine doesn't help it along. I like buying used tires and shining them up, I do realize they're gonna fail by a certain time, so I gotta drive on them as much as possible.

I had another tire shine with flakes in it so that was just can't remember. Think it was the OLD maguiars, like 2002, that was hot.

Re: Black Magic Tire Wet Wax

When you learn how to detail a car for money, yesh. I still had my 2000 gold Nissan sentra, looking better than carshow thanks to maguiars. Did you finally post you tools, I just am so insecure about my tool set, LOL!
