Sponsoredwhips.com???

Has anyone ever heard of sponsoredwhips.com? They have a Facebook page with over 17,000 likes so I filled out an application and a representative of the company called me today saying I was going to get sponsored and asked me what was everything I wanted to do my car and all that stuff. Then he asked me to send him a $200 USPS money order that would be refunded after all the processing and things were done. My question here is are they legit? It seems like it because of the facebook page and they post everything they do. Please let me know thanks!

Re: Sponsoredwhips.com???

Yeah that's what I was thinking I usually wouldn't even consider but this sounds legit because there are so many testimonials and people on facebook who promote it. I will probably just say forget it and move on, I just wanted some feedback first!

Re: Sponsoredwhips.com???

If you want any sponsorship, you gotta go get it yourself. Write to companies, go visit them, etc.
Different companies want different things from you so decide what you can do for them first. If say GReddy sponsored you and they gave you a free exhaust, they may want you to attend at least 2 car shows that year with their large magnet on your hood and make 2 trips to the drag strip to advertise for them.
Others may give you a one time discount on something and a free sticker... The Wix filters sticker on the underside of my hood came from me writing them and telling them my dad has used their filters for 30 years on everything he has had with a motor and I followed him in that. I told them what car I had and they sent me a free filter and that sticker and didn't ask for anything in return. The letter I got just said thanks for the loyal business, please tell your friends about our products, here's a free filter for your Honda Prelude and a free sticker.

DO NOT DO IT! I've never in my life heard of paying to be sponsored. Facebook doesn't mean ****. Sounds like 17,000 tricked fools.

They are the same as carsponsorship.com they are not full sponsorships its all quasy meaning you still have to fork out money for the parts. Its all bs and can be a scam.

Re: Sponsoredwhips.com???

Believe it or not lots of those likes are BS many people don't know but Facebook has some virus's that when you "like" something it goes as you like another thing as well. This is why you get those random game share things that supposedly friends send to you. then when you download/upload the game it automatically sends the game to other friends in your list without your permission. But their are some games that your friends actually send to you so you pretty much have to ask them if they send it to you.

I asked the guy about that and he said no more money would have to be paid, I get the parts for free then would have to wear the sponsors merchandise and represent that at car shows.

Perhaps, but considering their home page says there's no fee, it's a bit suspicious. If it's serious, then somewhere in there, before you shell out any money, and they shell out any parts, is a contract laying out all the details -- exactly what you provide and do, and exactly what they provide and do. Even before it gets to that point, you should have a better understanding of the exchange than what's been presented. Somewhere in there is the means by which they make a profit -- I guarantee they're not doing this for kicks. That's perfectly OK, so long as you understand where your money's going, and both what you're getting out of the deal, and what else you have to put into it.

If it looks too good to be true, it probably is too good to be true.
