Suspension Technique Sway Bars

To make this very quick. The suspension technique sway bars are the best upgrade I've had so far. It has a completely different feel of the road when driving. Everything is so much better. I took and road course before installing the sway bars and was timed a minute and seventeen sec. Now I run exactly 1.11. They bolted directly on without any problems. I could hold both of the old sway bars with my pinkie. But the new weigh 20 lbs. each. Yes added weight but it was well worth it. If you have a 4th gen I highly recommend you buy, install, and enjoy. Hell I know I did.

hell yeah these sound interesting..sorry to sound so thick but i always wondered how these are supposed to help handling but since ive been reading up on them i think i would want to do the whole lot, sway bars front rear, strut bars (front and rear) and so on. im just afraid that the car wont be as nimble and agile as before.

Are you kidding? It'll handle like it's on rails, man! I have the whole works, shocks, springs (1.5in drop), front and rear upper and lower strut braces, and sway bars. It's nuts!

Well, since it was months ago, I can't for the life of me remember where I got them from...Or how much I paid for them. Shop around. In the FS section, theres a thread with a lot of websites where you can buy stuff like that from.

i already have shocks and springs so this will be a good investment for me. ill be looking to go for the full works too and $600 seems like a good price to pay for the whole lot.

do they come with all the bushes and stuff too.?

Yep, they do. Polyurethane bushings, steel brackets and screws, and some lube for the bushings...good stuff, but messy. So good luck bro.

Oooooh. One thing though. In the install, you may/will destroy the bushings on your stock end links, which will cause them to clunk constantly. ImportReplacementParts has them, but not listed on the website. Contact them by phone or email...they'll help you out.

Jesse.

Indeed, good sir. Also, you may have to torch the end links off, if they don't cooperate.

i think it depends on wether they come off easily or if you have to torch them off..and chances are if you torch it then may aswell buy new endlinks too

My car has 175,000 miles on it and I had zero problems with the endlinks. Took a wire brush to them once they were off to clean em up and they were as good as new.

Tanabe is a great product. I have all of those with my sway bars and you wouldn't believe how different the car feels.

hi all,

did adding the rear sway make the rear suspension feel any stiffer than before?

I know it will decrease body roll, but I don't want it to make the ride more harsh at least wrt the rear suspension.

Now I've gotta add this to my list of upgrades... lol I have the Tanabe strut tower bars and I installled one then the other and notice a difference with both. They work well with my skunk 2 rear lower tie bar. These are the only suspension mods I have but a tociko setup followed by these will be the completed version for me.
BTW thanx for listing track times- it proves that its not a fiction of the imagination that these things work.

Sorry. I haven't been on for a while. To answer your questions, yes it the sway bars make the front and rear feel stiffer but not harsh. At least in my opinion. But You might feel different.

2nd No they don't come with end-links but if you need new ones let me know I get them brand new for 15 bucks at my job.

As far as suspension upgrades I personally think of theses as an essential to increasing the handling characteristics. Now I will honestly tell you if your not ready for a certain type of stiffness the they might catch you off guard. Anyone around the southside of Atl. let me know. I wouldn't mind meeting up. Hit a couple of back roads testing the differences in suspension setups.
