ebay n1 style cat-back exhaust

N1 style Cat back exhaust off ebay 3 pieces (muffler, S shaped, and mid pipe with resonator)

tools needed:
jack
a friend or a 2ed jack
pb blaster
14mm sock and rachet
flat head screw driver

time -2-4hrs pends on how many breaks, and weather and your work area

well paid 129 shipped for it, and the seller shipped it out fast and packaged it well

overall the tig welding on the seems is about a B on the piping, on the muffler ill give it about a C+ maybe a B-

the ease of installation is about a 3 to 4 out of 10

comes with gaskets and bolts

i guess the hardest part would be taking the old rusted stock exhaust off

and the hardest part of installation would be getting the rubber hangers on new exhaust ( i only got 3 of 5 on)

for as sound, its got a a low rumble and not as loud as i expected for a straight through design, might need a new cat lol

piping is 2 1/4 diameter and muffler has 4" tip

would i recommend? if your on a budget yes, if you just wanted to replace your old rusted muffler/piping yes, other then that no

sorry for no pictures of it hanging, havent got around to taking any
but after getting both muffler hangers on, its practically hugging your rear bumper, maybe 1-2mm gap betwen the two

Re: ebay n1 style cat-back exhaust

I was never really fan of the sound of this exhaust. A friend had one on his Civic.

They look pretty though.

Re: ebay n1 style cat-back exhaust

use wd40 to lube up to get those hangers off, i had the same exhaust i used it for about 3 years and it held up solid, i still am using the pipes but i got the stock muffler welded onto replace the n1 style muffler and still use the bigger pipes, it still sounds good and looks a little cleaner...but nice pick up for the money

Re: ebay n1 style cat-back exhaust

This is actually a review i can get in on, i had this exhaust on my 97 base when i bought it, it looked really good but i didnt like it, it sounded kinda like a beehive underwater at higher RPM's. I t sounded really good at idle though, im getting a megan racing na type. I have this exhaust if anyone wishes to buy. It has some miles on it but its in good condition just PM me. Its the TSUDO N1 Exhaust CatBack

Re: ebay n1 style cat-back exhaust

I have an h22 and I would have to say, for the price, its fine, but i would recommend another muffler. I didn't like the sound of the "beehive underwater like H22Fast mentioned. Other than that, I had it on for over 4 yrs and it's been serving me well

Re: ebay n1 style cat-back exhaust

i know this thread is old AF but i got a question...i have the same exhaust sitting in my garage, but i can't get the bolts on the catalytic converter to even budge. I know that all it needs is an oxyacetylene torch, but i'd rather just do it myself. can i just drill out the three bolts on the cat? is that even worth my time?

have you tried an impact driver? even if they are completely seized you should be able to easily break the bolts in half. drilling them out will be nearly impossible and def not worth the effort.

Re: ebay n1 style cat-back exhaust

I have this on my 5th gen. Its got a good rumble, but gets a tad bit raspy in the 4-5k rpm range. But when vtec kick in, she sounds good. Ive had it on my car for about 7 months now, and no issues yet.
