Royal Purple Synthetic Gear Oil (also f1 racing clutch and LWFW)

Alright all I can say is that i had the stiffest tranny out there for the honda prelude. My 5th gear grinds, also does 3rd sometimes. All the other gears were just really stiff, and really unconfortable.

I filled my tranny with Royal Purple Gear Oil. Really expensive, about $15 at your local autozone (compared to $5 pennzoil syncromesh). Well all I want to say is that the outcome was better than I even imagined. The tranny is smooth as butter now, and no more grinds(in any of the gears!). I was really happy and I recommend this product to anyone.

Now notice that I changed my clutch and flywheel, which might have also altered the way the car shifts. I put on an F1 Stage 1 Clutch and 11.5 lb. Cromoly Flywheel. I also recommend this for any street setup with like bolt-on mods.

I also bled my clutch resovior and added Valvoline Dot 3 Brake Fluid.

So even though I changed alot of things, I still feel that the gear oil changed the shifting the most, and its a best bang for your buck mod for those crunchy, stiffy, honda trannys out there.

Re: Royal Purple Synthetic Gear Oil (also f1 racing clutch and LWFW)

You really just put 75w 90 in a Honda transmission?

What a f*cking tool.

Also, F1 clutches are about the equivalent of riveting a big sh!t log to a splined plate, and calling it an "organic" clutch.

my mechanic did it not me, and hes a transmission specialist.

and if its soooo bad like you say, why has the clutch lasted me so long with me dumping my clutch all the time racing at the track?

ANYWAYS, lol, back to what i was saying..

tell you the truth I have no idea how much power I'm putting down. My aem v2 didnt give me much power but the hytech replica did, and I tested it beside my friends gsr hatch (which I used to lose by half a car before) and now I beat him by half a car or sometimes more. It was also because of the test pipe and the catback all together though. I also have beat 4th gen h22's (which are quick as fuk) which used to kill me before. All in all, even though clutch has gone through so much beating, its still working fine so I think its worth it.

Because you must drive like an old woman. It didn't stand a snowball's chance in hell in my S14.
