Pic's aren't too bad. Night time shots are among the hardest, so don't loose too much sleep about bad night pics.

Just some DEPO black housings. They're actually awesome quality for $200. Plan to retrofit soon!

Yeah, haven't been on in a while. Finally started getting some extra cash to spend on her. Just ordered some wheels. Going to do coils and such in the next couple months. And thanks for the kind words man.

I would have paid $200 either way haha. Where are they 100 ea? Good to know if I **** up trying to retrofit on my first go.

And here's a couple more of my rat's nest of an engine bay haha. Also threw one in there of how I shot it. Thanks for any advice dudes. I know these are kind of bad. I exhausted my photography knowledge (little to none) trying to get a good low light shot of the bay.

Re: Haven't posted in a while..

You can try lengthening the shutter speed, turning down the ISO, and 'painting' the area with a flashlight. I tried that trick after reading several paragraphs of advice given by Bykfixer. It's like getting a soft flash without the glare or washout.

Re: Haven't posted in a while..

Guys,
Is the flash adjustable on the rebel?

My Nikons have flash adjustments to raise or lower the brightness of the flash...

Or you can use a white film container split and slid across the flash to difuse it.
I use the old film container over the flash of p&s cameras.

Fuji film comes in an opaque white canister. You cut the bottom out, cut a slit in the side and slide it over your flash. Gary Fong difussers are $35+ and don't give as natural of a look as the film container..

At events like weddings the Fong looks sexy, the film container looks amatuer. I use the film container when it matters.

Sort of a repost but I figured I'd throw this out there since it's been almost exactly a year since I bought her!

Thanks buddy. And I agree. I cant wait to really figure it out so I can use it to its potential. I made a deal with myself that if I were to shell out money on a DSLR, that I would never shoot in Auto mode haha.

Re: Haven't posted in a while..

^^ this...
Used Fuji film canister

^^ in action
Slide it over your flash.

^^ Or $35 for this.

^^ Front view.
Note reflective checkers on lens cap. Easily found at night or day. A padded wrist strap and leather neck strap with a nice velour cover on one side.
I use the wrist strap mostly. But neck strap frees up both hands when need be. The factory neck strap gets annoying fast on hot days. Wrist strap allows you to carry the camera with one hand and peace of mind if you trip.

^^ accessories
- Good messenger/backpack bag. Tamrac outdoorsman.
- Steady stick. Manfroto monopod with swivel top and quick release. Great walking stick too.
- Tripod. Manfrotto model something or other ' x pro'. The top slides out for horizontal use and legs open to 90 ° for close ups.
- Tripod Ballhead. Manfotto mid size. Holds the lightweight camera like Rebels well.
I'm going with a Kirk BH 1 to hold my 5# camera and 3# lenses still.
- Flashlight. Numerous uses.
- Extra memory card.
- Extra battery.
My gear has reflectorized decals for night safety. The checkers are reflective tape.
