H23A with a 50 shot?

alright so i'm completely new to nitrous. i mean i the like bottom basics of it. but i've never had it in my own car before. used it in friends cars, but ya not my own.
what would be the best set up for the money? i know this tends to be preference for alot of poeple, but like what are you guys running?

btw the i'm gonna be running it on a fully balanced bottom end but otherwise stock internally H23A blue top. well maybe a set of stage 1 cams but ya.

thinkin a wet 50 shot, from zex? or maybe from NOS? only cuz i just want it for like the track and such. Everything i've read, is that a wet shot is safer on a a engine.

also what accesories should i get to make it any safer to run?

thanks, good info for sure, but that guys running a h23 non vtec...

i'm gonna be running a blue top. which is vtec, and is higher compression.. 10.6:1 if i remember right compared to 9.8:1

hmm...very good point, i did not know that. id look up nitrous builds for an h22 then. since its relatively the same compression ratio. i know youd have to upgrade injectors and a fuel pump. i really dont know what else

yup i knew that, already have a walbro 255 sitting at home, and looking at some rc 340cc injectors right now. or maybe a set of the RDX injectors. i dunno yet though

Honestly a 50 shot isnt much. Ur motor should be able 2 take that relatively easy. For a 50 shot u can go wet or dry. I would go wet(I know thats what you've already decided on). But for a 50 shot all u would need is 1 step colder spark plugs. If u want u can get some slightly larger injectors. But u dont really need them. If u like being safe, I would go for the larger injectors. I would say thats all u would need.

Oh and retard the timing 1 degree

dumb question but you mean retard the spark timing 1 degree? or valve?

Im not exactly positive but I would prolly say spark timing since u have 2 worry about ur spark plugs when using nitrous. I cold be wrong tho. I've read alot about nitrous. I've never heard of the zex smart dry shot but Im sure u would still be safe with that. If u up the shot tho I would go with a wet shot. But u should easily be fine with what I said before

zex kits might be the direction some new to nitrous might want to go specifically because a couple of there kits have a a/f shutdown.
basicly if the a/f ratio becomes to lean it will cut the solenoids.
it "can" save your motor
BUT it can be a pain if you have no means of changing timing or fuel even just fuel psi at the rail or it will spray and then shut down.
hold back and research a little more before you start poping bottles.

wet kits seem to be a little safer espically if you have no means of tuning.

youtube can hold the answers to all your questions, search nos jet tuning, timing adjustments, reading spark plugs for nos use, wideband monotoring and avoding nos detonation
