Re: 50 shot on my h23!!!?

If the comp. is good then a 50 shot on your H23 should be just fine. As for a wet kit being too much for your car? Whoever told you that doesn't know what they're talking about, the wet kit will be much safer than a dry kit.
For tuning, depending on what kit you get it might have a management system with it, like a ZEX kit. Otherwise you can just drop in NGK 1 step colder plugs and retard your timing about 2 degrees. But getting the NO2 tuned on something like hondata with N02 control would be the safest thing.

Re: 50 shot on my h23!!!?

Tuning would be a lot better and safe, I would start off with a 25 shot then work my way up. No2 can be fine the first few time them "boom" time for a h22 swap or be fine for a good bit just dont go crazy with it.

Re: 50 shot on my h23!!!?

What do you mean by "good" compression? What were the numbers?

Re: 50 shot on my h23!!!?

first compression test i did when motor was cold was:

195-195-185-190

after car being warm it was:

215-210-195-210 i am second owner of this lude, i bought from old guy who commuted to work everyday 30 miles back n forth for a while!. the motor is very strong, beating gsrs, tsx's, scions, etc....

im gonna get a wet kit with 25-35-55 jets and work from there. how much do tunes usually cost just these shots

Re: 50 shot on my h23!!!?

Your comp is pretty good, and the shots themselves don't matter when it comes to cost of tuning. But in anycase if you do plan on tuning your going to need to get a chipped ECU preferable a P28 or P72, then get either a hondata system, Crome, ECtune, Neptune, uberdata, or anyother tuning system that has NO2 control. For the chipped ECU you can check out Phearable.net. I'm not a Nitros expert by anymeans but I have been doing some heavy research on it becuase I plan to run a 75 shot in the near future myself. So if you need some more help let me know, I'll try my best to answer.

Re: 50 shot on my h23!!!?

From what ive read you can pretty much put a 50 shot on a stock motor. Just need to make sure the car is in general good condition, you don't need to retard the ignition or anything.

Re: 50 shot on my h23!!!?

wet kit >> dry kit

wet kits spray both nitrous and fuel into the TB/IM instead of only nitrous which gets unevenly distributed, but wet kits do distribute the amount a lil more evenly than the dry kits/

Wet kits are probably safer than dry but I know the Zex kit has a lot of safty features built in for example if you shoot your nitrous and if for some reason your fuel pressure doesnt compinsate for the nitrous then the Zex kit will recognize that and will back off. Another really nice feature of the Zex kit is that when it is programed so that you can only use nitrous when you activate the switch and are flooring it (WOT) helping to eliminate a chance of low fuel pressure. I'm not sure if the other nitrous companies have these features but I know Zex does and that's why I got my Zex dry kit.

So if you want to spend the extra money to be safer get a wet kit but in my opinion there is nothing wrong with the dry Zex kit
