vibrant header

Been doing some research on what header to get and it seems this is the best bang for buck as many say. The only problem is where do I find one?? All the threads I've been reading were from like 3 or 4 years ago. Is there any site still selling them?

Re: vibrant header

They came out with a new model 2 or so years ago, and once they sold out that was it

There isn't enough of a demand from the community to keep producing parts

The new generations of owners are cheap and ruining more than they think with their current trends

Re: vibrant header

It's disappointing really for those of us who are still new to the game but actually want to do things right and not buy the eBay replica garbage (minority I know). All the best performance headers seem to have disappeared (SMSP, RMF, Hytech, Vibrant, the list goes on). You MIGHT be lucky enough to find one used or laying around in a warehouse somewhere, but you're probably more likely to win the lotto.

I believe that ESP are doing a limited run of H22 headers which have some pretty promising specs Explicit Speed Performance and have the only stepped primary header I've seen for Preludes. Failing that I'm probably going to have to cough up for the Jun.

ESP no longer makes parts. I just contacted them a few weeks ago trying to get something made.

- that header looks like an ebay pos with a custom downpipe anyway.

SMSP and Hytech are still made, but there's a wait ontop of the process of getting ahold of either.

Randy of RMF passed away

Vibrant and the other 2 big/old good header companies stopped making them.

Now every "custom" header is a ripoff of an original design from years ago.

Re: vibrant header

darn... Hopefully I can find someone selling locally eventually and keep searching the webs. yeah I tried contacting esp to get a front strut bar weeks ago with no reply. Greater demand for cheap parts really makes it worse for those who want to build there car right.

Re: vibrant header

Whaaa?? No more ESP? I'll have to revise half my wish list now. Their header looked a little better than the eBay junk, the primaries and secondaries were the same diameter as the Jun and Vibrant but dumped into a 2.5" collector, so maybe you're right actually.

That High-End doesn't look bad for the price (damn sexy actually), how was the fitment? Surely it's a PITA getting it past the crossmember being all one piece, or at all for that matter? Got any dyno tests by any chance? I also found the Private Label MFG tri-Y that is roughly the same price and still with a 2.5" collector. I'd always lumped these in with the Megan, DC sport etc. as an OEM replacement but there's plenty of people claiming some decent gains.

I didn't realise they still made the Hytech OG, I thought the replicas were all that was left since everyone stopped talking about them like 4 years ago. Would it be worth the long long wait and/or the rather high price tag?

The real Hytech headers are nice, come with a flexpipe and labeled flange. My SMSP was worth the wait and price, but mostly because i'm not one for reps. (only one rep part on my car only due to the impossible feat of acquiring a real one)

Re: vibrant header

.... mmmkay. Lil awkward. Moving on...

So for anyone interested it appears the following are still available in no particular order:

SMSP (sms-products.com is gone)
Hytech HyTech Exhaust The Leader in Race Exhaust Technology
Jun JUN AUTO - JUN エ*ゾーストヘッダー
High-end Highend Autosports
PLM https://www.privatelabelmfg.com/Hond...aders_s/43.htm
Bisimoto Bisimoto Engineering | Reliable Power, Guaranteed Don't have a listing for a H-series anymore
Fujitsubo https://www.fujitsubo.co.jp/prods/de...02874/00000142 Only have a listing for BB1-BB4, not sure if there is an issue with fitment on the 5th gens.

Obviously there are the DC Sports, Megan, OBX, Pacesetter, Kamikaze etc. but I'm sure everyone would agree these aren't anything more than an OEM replacement (or worse). It looks like the Skunk2 and Greddy have been discontinued too. The High-end looks like a Hytech replica, the Jun and Fujitsubo look very OEM replacement but users seem to claim a 10kW+ gain from them, and the Bisi just looks freaking insane.

Of course I have exactly NFI where to actually buy most of these. It seems like I've been looking all freaking day too and it's kinda pissing me off since all of the threads talking about the comparative difference between them are old as hell and thus all the pics are gone and the links are broken. It'd be really nice to put some expected costs and gains next to these too.

THIS is why I decided to stick with the stock header.

JUN is good, pricey but good.

Edit: actually, $1007 Canadian dollars is less than I thought aJUN would go for. Probably shipped from Japan tho.

I have been telling people it was going to happen for years. Why spend all he money and time designing a product when some asshole buys it, sends it overseas, sells it as the same thing and makes the same amount of money.

Btw, I'll be coming out with a header soon. And I will also be monitoring who I sell to.

This is exactly why I refuse to make parts for anyone anymore. I've been bitten more than once and at the end of the day the credit and ideas were stolen.

Re: vibrant header

Just an update, did some digging and it appears that Dave closed the doors of SMSP back in June of 2013 to pursue a job at his old company.

I'm unaware if he does headers on the side or has someone else possibly helping him - but all signs point to no.

you will need to modify your stock cross member depending on which header you get or purchase a traction bar and call it a day. ez

Re: vibrant header

I once found a HyTech replica stainless steel tr-y header on ebay. It was selling for $500 but, again, we don't know how reliably this replica was made.

I'm honestly considering a Megan or DC header just because my stock one is pretty gnarly looking.

Someday though, i'd love to get a custom build header from a member on here. I want to be the last owner of my Prelude.

There should be alot of used ones out there floating on the net. Keep the search alive, I've seen nice ones the last 4 years.. Some in really good condition

Re: vibrant header

I would think this replica is pretty good quality, considering K-Teller still makes exhausts for Preludes.
