NRG Short Hubs

Hey guys,
So I'm looking to get a NRG Short Hub and Quick Release for my 2001 Prelude. I found my Quick Release but what's the difference between the 2 Short Hubs

SRK-130H - Short Hub
https://www.getnrg.com/products/quic...t-hub/srk-130h

SRK-131H Short Hub with Resistor
https://www.getnrg.com/products/inte...t-hub/srk-131h

Thank you guys in advance for you'r help.

Re: NRG Short Hubs

it appears that the hubs themselves are different in the pictures. call the number on the website and ask if they are two different parts or check NRG's website.

put a little work in man.

Re: NRG Short Hubs

yeah second hub is not the same as first hub. depends if you want your horn to work. i would go with option 2. i did like ogsmakdade. bought #1 and purchased resister seperate. either way it just depends again on how easily you want your horn to work. or if not at all

I do want the horn to work so the best option would be the 2nd one? Is it plug and play or is there a lot of fuss to install it?

Re: NRG Short Hubs

ha its never plug in play. its all about how much or how little you can modify and still make it work. what steering wheel are you going with?? if you wanna use the horn button on the steering wheel then #1

Re: NRG Short Hubs

are you getting a quick release too?? or just the HUB. if your getting a wuick release. go with 1. if not then it doesnt matter at all. wiring the horn button is easier with #1.

#2 as you can see has no back to it. so you cant really wire up the horn.. you can, but just a little tricky.

answer this question then ill explain. are you getting a quick release as well??

if YES
ill explain options of both
with 1 the quick release and the hub (if both NRG) will synk up fine and your horn button should work just as long as the horn wire is touching the back of the HUB (the gold part). then you shouldnt have issues.

if you go with #2 the quick release will not have anything to be wired too. so you would have to ground a wire and extend the horn wire to the HUB. ideally that sounds easy but you would need slack when turning the wheel left and right. thats a lot of extra wire that would be getting twisted around the HUB and could disconnect.

if NO

then it doesnt matter, either one

Yes I am going to be getting a quick release. The set up will be NRG short hub, NRG quick release gen 2.8, momo Jet steering wheel.

I purchased the first one. I have my bulb in. I just purchased the resister separately off eBay. (the red wire in the second HUB picture) just buy the resister its a lot easier and your passenger will thank you

yes. once you disconect the airbag plug (its yellow plug) the resister plugs into the part on the car. once the old wheel is off you should see it in the column area, so that it reads as if your air bag is still there. no need to remove the bulb. I felt more comfortable for me and my fiancee, since she rides with me a lot, to buy the resister than just taking the bulb out.

The part you will be removing the airbag from.

There's gonna be 2 parts. It's in that write up link I posted. First plug on the actual oem steering wheel. Once the air bag is off. There is one more yellow plug that plugs up under that. You'll see it once you take that second part up. Again, it's in the write up
