Exhaust help!!

So I bought a 97 base model. The exhaust was rusted to ****. So I put a new one on from header back. Just had a shop bend one for me. Its a DC header, 2 1/2 inch, cat delete, one resinator, to a Flowmaster DBX muffler. Once I installed it, I immediately noticed a big drop in low to midrange power! The damn thing is dead between 2k-3500 rpm. My question is, is the Flowmaster too restrictive because it has a vortex shaped baffle in it or is the exhaust flowing too well? The other muffler had a silencer in it that reduced the opening to an inch in diameter. I know that with NA motors a little back pressure is good for torque so Im affraid that's my problem. The motor is stock internally so Im thinking maybe I actually have too much flow. Any ideas guys? Thanks

very wrong. backpressure is a myth for our motors. its not flowing too well. you have a different problem. any cel's?

Re: Exhaust help!!

i don't think i have any cels. no check engine light, i havent hooked a scan tool to check though. the only other mod i know of is an aem cold air intake. do you think i should check with a scanner even though im not getting a check engine light? the guy did move my front o2 sensor back about two inches. i didnt think it matter due to the fact that it has no cat so both sensors should be reading the same. which should give me a cel code. but no light so im confused. maybe the light doesnt work. lol
