New to the Honda scene have a question

Hey guys, I bought a 97 last week from a shady guy in the city out here. I got it home then it jumped timing. Turns out the tensioner bolt wasnt torqued correctly and snapped off. More than likely looking for a replacement head for it or at least a valve job. Since my local junk yards dont carry the H22a4 I had a question. I found a head 4 hours away but when I called they said it was only for the 98 99 model prelude. I have searched up and down looking for an answer as to if this will just bolt onto my block or what. Seems odd that the head would only work for those two years. Also on a side note. Anyone in the central new york area trying to get rid of an undamaged head or entire motor? I have cash...thanks!

Re: New to the Honda scene have a question

that head should be just fine, as far as ive ever known, theres little to no difference in h22 heads. unless of course your talking about the type s or something. either way, mechanically it will go right on with out a problem.

and if your not wanting to drive that far to get that head(complete head, cams/valves and all), i have one off a 98 prelude i'd sell to ya for i dunno, cheap. make me an offer.
