weird sound from h23

my h23 has about 175,000 miles. Past week its been making a kind of humming noise. (thats the only word I cant think of to describe it).
It sounds like its coming from the left side of the engine (tranny side).
It does it on idle and after I rev to around 2-3000 rpm. Right after the rpm drops to idle it makes it.

anyone ever have this before?

my power steering pump does that once in a while. The bearing are going out I believe. Could also be your alternator. It is likely Not the engine making the noise.

Re: weird sound from h23

it keeps getting worse now. I noticed that at idle while in drive or even nuetral it does it. when I step on the brake or pump them it goes away. I was thinknig of it having something to do with my brake fluid or something?

If it was the motor making the noise you'd know it. sounds like the angry fathers of 100 deflowered virgins trying to beat down your door to castrate you.
