Emanage Ultimate

Ok I installed the emanage ultimate on my car when I built the engine and have had nothing but trouble from it from the get go. The damn thing keeps losing tune. One day it will run great and the next its rich then lean. I have a innovative wide band to monitor A/F's. I was told that it controlled rev limit and that doesn't seem to work either. I'm getting ready to install a 70 shot on the car and that was one of the main reasons for buying the POS. I am having enough problems with the little stuff I don't even want to think about retarding timing. I'm getting ready to go back to the AFC II. Any opinions, problems, suggestions fire away.

Loose the EU. It's a POS. You might want to run a chipped ecu with either crome/uberdata/hondata. The best and safest way to go IMO.

I'll repeat. "Greddy Emanage Ultimate is a POS."

Poolelude your not the only person with problems with this unit. Everybody everywhere that has bought this thing is having problems. Atleast everybody with preludes or any other honda.

top end can you point me in the direction of these problems with the EU. I was thinking about getting either that or the emanage blue but I didn't know they were such a bad investment. You have any links discribing the associated problems and what not?

Naw I don't have any links. I frequently visit knowledgperformance, lethal injection, and batleground here in atlanta (atleast I use to lol). The thing with this piggyback ecu (Wanna be stand alone) is that it's supposingly the best option for tuning automatic transmission.

Problems that was brought to my attention indirectly (meaning from word of mouth and seeing cars sitting in shops for months with tuners cussing the shyt out of greddy for not getting them solutions.)

It wont read boost. won't read injectors that are too big (I think anything over 550cc it won't read for some reason). As poolelude stated wont read rev limiter.

I spoke to Tracy at batleground and she says "We just won't recommend that POS to anybody." Then I say I thought only hondas were having problems with them? She says: "Ace we are not a honda shop we are a nissan/subie/Mistu/Mazda etc..etc.. shop and that is a waste of money buying that thing."

There were a string of problems that people are having with it but I really didn't pay them much attention. I remember slightly coming on pz and posting "stay away for EU its a pos." Sorry I don't have any links I'm just going by word of mouth. I literally watch a fifth gen auto prelude sit in a shop for over 6 months because of the e-management ultimate. Kevin just couldn't get EU to work with that prelude even with tech support from greddy.

Thanks for the insite. I had heard this from some others before I bought it and figured it was a matter of opinion/hondata lover whatever you want to call it. The injectors are the only thing I can say is working right though I only stepped up to a 330 and correct me if I'm wrong put an AFC would handle this minor increase. I spoke with a shop in Richmond and they will do an acura ecu swap and hondata for 350 out the door. I think he is charging another 50 or so for the ecu. Hacking into everything bothers me though. That opens up a whole bunch of different sh#t that can go wrong. Though the POSultimate has close to 40 wires that need to be spliced. Give me a dependable setup to go with.............. I'll do a stand alone system for the N02 if needed. I heard that the hondata can run two stage???

My only concern is I don't know the shop. Anyone from VA have any shops they recommend? Doesn't have to be in VA just something in a neighboring state if anything. I have too much money in this thing to have it running half ass. I want to get something done soon. Missed all of race season last year..................starting to get the itch BAD.

Went to OBD1 and everything is running great now. Hasn't jumped tune yet. I'll run it for a few days and see what it does.
