Idle problem sorta

So the car starts fine and it does a little idle surge rev it once it goes away. So at like 1200 to 1500 it kind of surges when your driving like if your light on the pedal it will buck now I have no vacuum leaks and bled the system cleaned all is to clean in idle problems thread is this a bad idle air control valve I want to go brand new if it is just kind want some reassurance before I make the 280 dollar purchase any help would be great guys. It's a 92 si 4ws I have a o2 sensor code but that's been there forever also coolant temp sensor code. But nothing else. And this is at warm or cold it doesn't really matter and it's not consistent sometimes I will be driving home and it will be perfect I haven't figured out the constant in the situation yet the only thing and this is a big maybe it doesn't do it when it's cold outside but hasn't been cold for a while so can't really test that scenerio.

Re: Idle problem sorta

okay ,i am going to start by saying that the codes you got are not there for no reason, the o2sensor is critical because that sends signals to the ecu to adjust fuel and other aspect of engine management ,witch are part of your issues now and the iacv also plays a role in that you need to trouble shoot before buying a replacement there is very good write up on this idle troubleshooting ,look in the forum for it in the diy thread ,i believe it was made by different people ,that are very well written, one off witch is , really cleared and is written by twokexlv6coupe,if by any chance you can't find it just asked here and some one will chime in to instruct you how to do the fitv valve adjustment and trouble shoot the other problem.

i know why the codes are there i'm not saying that. but those have been there for a while now and never affected it. the o2 sensor is not there. and the ect clip was cut off which i just got one so when it arrives in the mail that will be taken care off i already adjusted the fitv, already bled the coolant and went through the whole system looking for vacuum leaks actually found a couple so thought i was gonna get lucky. So I bought a new iacv it will be here like wed so we will see if this helps the problem

Re: Idle problem sorta

you said you bled the system... are you talking about the coolant system? because if not, do that. That will definitely give you a false idle. But it doesn't sound like the idle is your problem because you say it happens while you're driving. Have you checked and adjusted your timing? It just really sounds to me like you may have a little air in your coolant system. If you go from that coolant to an air bubble, you're sensor is going to give a false reading; but it sounds like you're already aware of this, so just give everything another check over before you go make a big purchase. Good luck bud ;)
