Poly Mounts

My pops is a machinist so I gave him a project the other week. I removed the rubber from the stock front, rear and tranny mounts and had him mill poly inserts to press back in their place. He also made new sleeves as well. I left the side mounts hoping that would soak up some of the vibration. How much of a difference should I feel in this change and what can I expect to break?

I have energy suspension urethane mount inserts and they're awesome. I also have a full suspension bushing kit. some of which were custom made by a machinist as well. good call man, you'll love em.

Picked the car up last night and all I can say is holy..................... Well I won't go there. Work great. Shifting is 100 times better than before. Little harsh though. I have rattles in the car in places that I never thought it could rattle. Poly-ethelene may have been a little more dence than what I was looking for. Doesn't feel much diferent than steel mounts. Oh-well you only live once right? I had the "old man" save the template for the mounts if anyone is interested...

Very good choice mod there. Just 2 weeks back, i had custom made a set of Teflon and Nylon mix rear suspension upper arm and linkage arm bushes and i can say that it really really makes the lude handle like dream. The car feels so grounded, so neutral and when i do handbrake turns, the rear slides out just enough for you to catch it. My lude is now pretty fun to drive with exception for one thing.

I have newer rattles coming from my dashboard during idle, not that irritating though. It's due to the fact that the components have made the chassis stiffer so slightly more rattles are to be expected.
