Re: swaping f22a1 for h22a

SINCE you are gonna do cams (stage 3) are you gonna get new pistons to add compression so the cams will actually be more effective? Stock compression (10.6:1) on the h22a isn't going to be too impressive, you might be happier with stage 1 or 2's (which ever company your gonna go thru) not to mention you're gonna want valve springs and match valve train components to support the extra lift of the cams.

Even for the simple fact that you wanna upgrade the cams, get a chipped ECU.
And YES...you're going to need a new computer. Stock h22 computers are p13's. You're gonna need a chipped ECU so it can be tuned to compensate and make use of the cams.
You don't necessarily have to do hondata.... Check with any local tuning shops with dyno's and see if they tune honda's and what program they use to do it. There's ECtune, hondata, crome, neptune.... its preference is on the tuner. I personally wouldn't go with hondata, simply for the reason that they tried to sue PGM-fi.org because they were a site dedicated to ppl who didn't feel it was necessary to pay almost $1000 to tune a honda.
