F22a1+H23a1=?????

Can you do the DOHC head swap from a h23 with the f22a, or does it have to be the f23 with the h23?

Ok, so f22 block (good sleeves) and h23 with f23 head gasket... = turbo friendly bottom end, plus boost friendly DOHC head.... sounds too good to be true lol

Re: F22a1+H23a1=?????

so put the h23a1 head on ur f22 block and it won't make a difference anyways. The h23 can also have the DSM manifold mated to it, by drilling the holes

Re: F22a1+H23a1=?????

Man I've been looking everywhere for this thread, I wasn't sure if I put it on here, or on cb7tuner... I'm hopefully still doing this swap... but with the move/renovation/waiting for the new shop to get built... I've had very little time for the lude (it got hit with a car door :( )

Re: F22a1+H23a1=?????

well as far as the swap goes smokey's got me pretty much covered with write ups and answering my stupid questions... but here is one that doesn't directly pertain to the build

Will swapping the H23 head change my redline?

Re: F22a1+H23a1=?????

you can do that but i would look into the f20b head. v-tec dohc same head gasket specs as the f22a1 not to sure about the vtec to the ecu thoe so the h23 might still be a better choice just for the ecu issue

Re: F22a1+H23a1=?????

the f20b head is essentially an h22 head, only difference is the bottom end from what I understand

Since the f22a/b have basically the same bottom end (i.e-crank shaft) as the h23, the tuning issue shouldn't be too big of a deal, a stock p14 would probably just make it run rich.

Re: F22a1+H23a1=?????

stick with the h23 the header and intake manifold would need to be h22 bolt pattern if you did the f20b head swap but as you know the h23 and f22 bolt up in every way

There is a little bit more info about this on cb7tuner...a lot of guys there have done the swap. It's where I heard of it when I was planning for my cb
