If anyone has any suggestion on what I could do to make her better, I am very open!

Remember, though, she is a daily (I do take her EVERYWHERE) and I am still in school so more of the "perfection" will be done when I have a garage to keep her in.

thank you thank you. actually my dad did it (along with all the other work on the car except the valve cover and tune). it will probably get re-dipped soon because ive learned that many solvents will east plastidip VERY quickly. ill probably do clear again with some glossifier added in

lol not true. with tuning of course, it is helpful.. it will be an open ported plate to match the plenum and runners. the graph in the first post is without butterflies

Re: :::bryanbrochill::: 1997 Base

as soon as i finish this semester ill have it retuned (end of april/beginning of may). changes since the last tune already are the custom made intake/flowstack over the aem v2. hopefully this setup along with the new intake will put me over 200. if this intake really messes things up though, ill just report the one im currently running to 4 big holes instead of the 8 small ones

Re: :::bryanbrochill::: 1997 Base

since last tune the changes were made are the fully ported oem manifold along with a 3>3.5 inch custom intake and BPi flowstack. She holds power much higher now! Used to drop off at about 6700 a little harder than the dyno could read accurately and now i gain power all the way to about 7600!

Re: :::bryanbrochill::: 1997 Base

Update:

So I've made it pretty concrete that I want to have a 3" exhaust setup, pro1 cams, and another retune before the fall semester begins. I already have all the parts picked out and ready to be ordered, just need to wait until the money is in my hands.

Also, I needed a little spice in my life and picked this custom header up today for a great price from a friend. No dynos have been done on it yet so idk how it will perform..

As long as it doesnt make any bad power dips, ill sacrifice a couple ponies for a 1 of a kind piece. Has the same runner diameter and collector diameter so I hope it should be alright. One of the bolts holding my hytech rep together fell out who knows when so i think there might be slight leak from the slip joints anyway

Re: :::bryanbrochill::: 1997 Base

If each tube is pretty close to same length and offers similar backflow resistance (or lack of) you should see a noticeable difference as far as neck snapping back is concerned. Dyno and all that? Eh, time will tell. But your system would have a better chance to rid itself of the exhaust gases all other things considered.

The tube on the left looks longer than the rest...

Re: :::bryanbrochill::: 1997 Base

Hooked on driving 6-6-14 coaching session on Honda prelude - YouTube

Decided to take her out for the track for both mine and hers first time. Was having a blast unfortunately my clutch decided to explode in the 3rd lap of the second session. Thats okay though, Exedy Stage 1 and Fidanza 8.5 lb flywheel will be here on wednesday!

On another note, my whole first session was screwed up because apparently i have the first sticking professional products throttle body -_- I'll just say their customer service has been far from appreciable on the matter as well.

Re: :::bryanbrochill::: 1997 Base

yea I'm sure I would see even better power with higher compression. My head was shaved a little bit from when i had to do the head gasket last year so i'm sure its a little higher than 10.6:1 at this point. The plans were for the Pro1s mated to a Supertech valvetrain but now this whole clutch issue turned a $300 track day into about a $1200 mess, the chances of cams this summer are getting very slim... Hopefully by Christmas now :)

Anyway, here are some recent updates

This is the clutch as it came out of the car. It was of SECO brand which apparently is a $70 clutch off ebay. Surprised it lasted as long as it did honestly but whatever, at least i know whats in the car now. Starting to really not like the dude who owned the car before me as this is not the first crappy thing i found on this car after i got it

And heres whats in there now! :D

Im at 100 miles on this break in period which i plan on doing for about 500 miles total. Overall i have to say that this combo is awesome! SOOOO smooth and really nice engagement. The lightweight flywheel took maybe a day to get used to.

And here is the professional products throttle body that has been giving me much trouble... Im stuck using the OEM throttle body for now. Ive talked to a Marco at professional products who claimed he was going to send out a throttle body to me as soon as he recieved the email w/tracking info that i sent last week.... but still no word back from him :/ The tps needs adjustment but i dont feel like going to my tuner twice so ill be waiting out the awkward idle rpms.

On another note, im pretty fed up with the innovative 60a mounts. They vibrate... A LOT. and im stickler for comfort. New rubber mount should be here on friday to replace the rear in hopes that my steering wheel and such will stop twerking away while im in traffic. I plan on keeping the 2 side mounts and running a rubber front and rear in hopes to keep the shifting benefits from the innovatives i leave on

Re: :::bryanbrochill::: 1997 Base

The rear one is mounted on the crossmember holding the steering rack so it sends the most cabin vibrations. Im sure a rear insert would cause the same effects. I loosened all of the mounts a few days ago and tightened them while the car was running and this is what i found:

All loose - smooth as stock
Tranny tight (all others loose) - very very minimal vibration
Tranny and driver tight (rear loose) - slight bass tone inside and 3rd brake light rattle. The mounts actually caused my headliner to drop on the middle as well so that makes a little bit of noise
All tight - **** hits the fan. Steering wheel shakes aggresively, keys rattle, Onstar rearview mirror shakes and cant see through it, glove box goodies rattle, misc. dash interior knocking sounds, etc

This was all at about 1000 rpms as well which is where the vibrations are at its worst so when that tps does get fixed, it'll be riding at a smooth 825 rpms again
