:::BronzeWyrm::: 2001 Base

Well, I started a build thread on another forum. Wanted to share some things I have done and want to do. It was dead over there, I made the wrong choice. SO, here is another thread for you all to gander at. feel free to give opinions, im not sensitive

Anyways, Here goes.

It started when my girl just HAD to have a new car. mid 05 I believe. had to be an integra, . well we looked and looked for the ONE. finally one day we stumbled onto a lude. late model, black on black leather, 5spd yada yada. after sitting in it, and running it around a bit she asked "what is this?" a prelude I responded. from there on out we were no longer looking for an integra. A late model lude it was going to be. YES! I found a base model 5spd, with cloth, 111k seemed in good running order. so we brought her home.

this is the only before pic I have sadly...

After loosing a factory alloy to a rock in twin falls, ID. and some ruff parking jobs from my girl she was in need of a repaint. not that bad, but beings I do restorations for a living, I figured it was time for a facelift. put in in a couple spots of primer, began the process...

The Clutch went out... not wanting to throw a garbage oem in there I got a stage II kevlar clutch set. did a horse trade deal with a friend of mine to install the clutch (he runs a napa auto care center) They did the clutch. the trans guy split the trans and checked all the syncos and internals. I had them check the valve adjustment, and tune the thing up for me. I got it back with a 1k mile break in period on the clutch. COOL I know why, its a Kevlar! This thing GRABS! im amazed how smooth it is and how well it holds. I can speed shift it at redline in any gear and It all goes to the tires.

got the clutch broke in, and the auto timing belt auto tensioner blew up
so I did the research and got all the crap a year or so later to do the manual tensioner upgrade. the 2.3 stuff. got it all in there, everything was cool.

then on the way to work I shift hard to pass down to 3rd then up to 4th again hard. throw a code. ????? wtf, stupid car... well it was the TDC/KPC sensors throwing a fit this time you know what his means!!!! back into the timing cover. wooohooo changes it, nothing. did all the wiring nonsince I could figure out and still nothing 3 weeks later... it was getting old at this point. I threw up a thread and was lead to the 2.3 obd1 changeover. I did this and it worked! everything was good! then the new codes starting coming..... I threw codes all over the board. every other day It seemed like.

FINE! ill RIP all the junk I have my hands on and start over! I know there is a reason. well I found in in the factory dizzy. there was bad sensor wiring in it. so armed with a new OBD II dizzy and a Honda branded tdc/kpc I got back after it. changed it all back to factory. took me a bit, but but I got it solved.

everything is good in lude land! finally! Tax's came back. its 2012 by this point. im convinced all is well and I can start to put some cash into her and get it fixed up proper!

After some deliberation with the ole' lady we came up with a list

RIMS 17" or better
tires
front bumper
front fender R/H
projector headlights
fog lights
smoked marker light kit
and a paint skeem to set this Prelude Apart for all the others!

pics:

the wheels we chose. there a lovem or hatem wheel, I know. 17" DXR racing, found them on ebay for less that a Bill EA.

mounted on some ZR's you can see what the body was looking like at this point.

time to look into the front facia. its jacked up, and my new headlight are here!

OFF with you!

I was still on the fence after looking at the front bumper if I was going to fix it or not. I slapped It back on till I had time to order a new one!
lights all done.

Not bad. Neither the wheels nor headlights are my taste, but they look pretty good. How's the engine and stuff running these days?

Also, just out of curiosity, which other forum did you post to?
