:::Siktor311::: 00' Base

Been a member since August and had my lude (aka Roxii) since October 2012, and just now getting around to making one of these. She is a 2000 base auto, that I bought off my cousin's husband for $2900 .

Here she is when I picked her up. Dirty, balding tires, faded bumpers, window trim crumbling, but other than that she is in good condition for 168k on her.[IMG][/IMG]

He had already put on AEM Cold Air Intake, AEM Red serpentine pulleys, DC Sports front strut bar, H&R Lowering Springs, and OEM optional carbon fiber trim kit.

[IMG][/IMG]
[IMG][/IMG]
[IMG][/IMG]

The stock head unit needed to go. Out with old, and in with a new JVC KD-R330 head unit. [IMG][/IMG]

I wanted to go with the black and red them so then I Plastidipped my emblems. Came out pretty well for my first time [IMG][/IMG]

Then I decided I wanted an exhaust with a bit more rumble. Im tight on money as I work and go to school, so I went with an eBay N1 style cat back exhaust. Surprisingly it sounds great with just a little bit of rasp. I can't complain! [IMG][/IMG]

As I mentioned earlier, the tires were balding so I got me some 16" Drag DR33's wrapped in Pirelli P6 P205/50R16 tires.[IMG][/IMG]

I then did some cosmetic rehab on Roxii, first I repainted the window trim with Duplicolor window trim paint. Then I painted my valve cover. Everyone does the regular black or red so I wanted to change it up a bit [IMG][/IMG][IMG][/IMG]

Next mod was something super simple but added a whole new edge to the car. I did a dome/map light, trunk light, and license plate LED swap.[IMG][/IMG]

The last modification before this current winter of 13'-14' was drilled and slotted rotors on each corner. Fresh out of da box![IMG][/IMG]

And installed[IMG][/IMG]

This current winter has been pretty brutal in the Chicago suburbs with lots of snow and super cold temps but here is how she sits now. [IMG][/IMG]

Since the weather is too cold to really do much on her, this thread will be kind of slow. But when spring and summer hits, watch out!

Engine
AEM CAI
AEM Red Pulleys
Painted VC
Mugen replica oil cap
eBay N1 Style catback exhaust

Interior

Drilled and Slotted rotors
Drag Dr33 16" wheels
Pirelli P205/50R16 tires

ICE
JVC KD-R330

Re: :::Siktor311::: 00' Base

Nice. Sad what the winter roads can do to a car up north!

FYI, the Prelude does not have a serpentine belt. It has separate belts for the alternator/AC and power steering.

Re: :::Siktor311::: 00' Base

I like the emblems.

Get you some TR3 resin glaze. $10 at pep boys. Compound off your wax and rub on the resin glaze.
TR3 resin glaze
If you can't do it this winter, do it this fall.

It'll do wonders for those faded bumpers and is a nice shell over the paint to keep out all that salt.

And this spring compound it off and get wax for red cars. Kinda pricey, but worth. Google red car wax..

Keep up the good work.

I'll have to try it when its not either 5 degrees or snowing, or in Chicago's case, possibly both haha
