Son of a bitch. My wife is gonna hate me. You ever been in a car where the subwoofer base vibrates the rear view mirror to where you can't tell if you have a cop behind you or a 1989 Toyota pickup? That's how all 3 of my mirrors are.

Thanks man, I'm pretty pumped about how far I've already come with it, and about the potential it has. The beauty of it won't come as fast as the mechanical part has though, so it'll be awhile til it's picture worthy.

And yeah the rear mount holes that bolt to that mount above the steering rack didn't line up properly, so we had to drill out maybe 1cm off one of the holes.

Re: :::Linds-O::: 1995 SE/VTEC

Just been concentrating on some of the little and tedious things lately. Before I could get an alignment, the shop told me I needed a left-inner and right-outer tie rod. Well, upon performing my own inspection, I just needed two inners but just for good measure, I replaced them all and the protective bellows along with them;

Also switched over the s2000 antenna so I had the chance to take a couple pics of it to fulfill a few requests. If you've ever taken apart your broken OEM antenna then you'll recognize I still used the pieces that mount it to the rear quarter panel-these help it remain straight up and down rather than... cocked ...out to one side. I also used a $9 WalMart coaxial antenna connection for the AM/FM reception, because it does the same job as the $105 s2000 antenna if you bought the whole thing new;

The only tricky part is getting a piece of all-thread with nuts thick enough to couple it to the base of the antenna, which has almost no thread to work with. I only had... tiny little nuts...so I used red locktite to keep the antenna in place. On the lower end, just used another nut and lock-washer to hold that washer in place to keep the unit tight against the sheet metal, and folded the wiring up behind the jack mount in the trunk, so it just looks normal again.

After that, just finished piecing together the front end. Note: My wife taught my mom how to photobomb so that's her new thing;

Also cut the bumper up again to get the fog lights installed, and figured I'd embrace the cars imperfections by emphasizing a couple of them;

Finished up the engine bay by using all the bronzed (or whatever they are) interior bolts from Number One, repainted the cowl, plastidipped the inner fenders and wheel wells, and repainted the windshield wiper arms;

Switched over the weather stripping yesterday from the red car so I could drive to work in the rain, and took a couple pictures before I walked in;

Believe it or not, I took a picture of the good side of the car :/ I still need to do a lot, but that's where she stands.

Driving in bad weather is one of my favorite things to do. If it's too bad though, I'll just drive the Xterra so I can purposely drive through some big puddles. :D

Plastic weld..that's an awesome idea, but I think you're the only one I know what knows how. Let me know when you'll be Easy Ridin' through (I think that was actually filmed here).

I don't see how I can put anyone on here to shame, considering I wouldn't even be able to pop the rear seat up if it wasn't for you guys sharing how to do it. Any time I had to Google something, I would just specify this site to populate results from, so literally 99.5% of everything I know how to do to this car has come from somewhere else on PreludeZone.
It would be me who is shamed, had I not used what this place has to my advantage.

Another update..I fixed my cupholder with a paperclip!! It's stupid, but I'm about as happy with a working cupholder as I am tearing through 2nd and 3rd gear getting on the freeway.

Re: :::Linds-O::: 1995 SE/VTEC

Thanks gents!

Static..if I had the balls, I'd have a Plum Crazy Purple Prelude. Lucky for the Prelude community, I don't have the monaaayy. Or the balls, yeah.

ElSpectro - When I first got the red one, I disliked the blades a lot and I wanted to take them off as soon as I went through my first set of tires. Well the tires have been on for 3 years or so now, but a couple months into them is when the rims had grown on me. Now I love them.

Re: :::Linds-O::: 1995 SE/VTEC

This past weekend, I made the best junkyard score I've ever made..

Started out grabbing a front driver's blinker light since I smashed that side up in the wreck. Been looking for one of these for a good price for almost 3 months. Also found some fog light brackets hidden in the bumper I can use to mount some yellow Civic fog lights my friend gave me a long time ago

Had to do a double take on these since I'd never seen them before. Thanks to a couple text replies from new friends I've made on here, I was encouraged not to pass them up;

And for the first time EVER, a 5th generation Prelude showed up in the yard, so I jumped all over these. I'm most excited about them;

I spent more time on the interior of the car the past week, so it's come together pretty nicely. I swapped in the 5G glass sunroof again, by myself again which totally sucks. I asked my mom to grab me another glove so I wouldn't cut my hand on some of the pieces I cut before, but she wanted to take a picture of what I was doing first;

While it was in the red car, the rear part of the headliner had a wicked sagging problem I never worked out, so I took this opportunity to come up with an idea. While comparing the 4th gen and 5th gen roof brackets, I notice that the 5th gen had the same space for the interior light as the 4th gen SE, just not drilled for mounting. Frickin sweet, I'm mounting the light there;

Second, I'm not using the SE headliner because I have nothing beige left in the car, I'm using the VTEC headliner with the cutout for the front map lights by the windshield (Luckily the car has the bolt holes for it, so the VTEC light install is simple). Sooo, had to create another hole. Layed the SE headliner on top of the VTEC headliner to trace for cut-out;

Test fit the SE map light;

Spent a good while rewiring stuff, screwing things in, painting the tan map light, and getting everything in place;

HUGE thanks to Naj3000 here for sharing the Interior DIY: Leather Spray Dye. I'm still working on the seat cushions, but the color change on the seat backs turned out awesome. Here's a good before/after on those;

I cleaned and conditioned all the panels once more, vacuumed, got the back all put back together after properly running my stereo wiring, and I'm stoked at how that leather looks! I can't wait til I finish the cushions;

Lastly, not to ignore the exterior, I painted and installed my front and rear mud flaps, as well as the side skirts and the rear Accord kit. I'm still on the lookout for another front Accord lip but every Accord at the junkyard was in a front end collision, and has nothing up front;

I found a pair of those headlights at the junkyard about a month ago as well. Looks like the ones you found are in much better condition, though.

Yeah this was a lucky trip! I check the U-Pull-It website a couple times a week, and when they got that 5g in, I had to make a recon trip to make sure they weren't lying. I came across that 4g with all the lights and brackets on accident!

I forgot to mention, I also scored a full set of Gorilla lock lugs with it. Awesome!

Re: :::Linds-O::: 1995 SE/VTEC

Thanks man! I'm kinda proud of myself with that 2nd light up there. Next is LED's to really light it up in there. Plus, a lower voltage pull I think will do well with the amateur wiring job.

I've wanted TL rims for the longest time. When I saw DeafLude's ride with them actually installed, I fell in love with the look, I just love that 5-spoke look with the 'thicker' spokes. I'm really debating on getting them because in a town like Albuquerque, not many of these things float around. Kinda like the 5-lug swap. BUUUT then I will have 2 sets of SE rims and a set of blades hanging around. Tough decisions...

How are you wiring the second lamp? Separately from each other or in tandem? Both turn on when the door is open type thing?

I literally unsheathed a small section of the stock wiring from the light above my head and soldered in the pigtail from the VTEC map light so that both light up when the door opens. Popped two 15A fuses in the process by leaving the doors open while wiring. But so far, I haven't had any other issues with it like that.

The front VTEC light has four 194 bulbs that I bought LED's for a long time ago so I don't think they draw as much electricity from the circuit. I'm eventually going to put a LED in the stock light but that's a weird little bulb so I'll have to order it from somewhere.

Re: :::Linds-O::: 1995 SE/VTEC

Blew 2-15a fuses? Wow! So your battery was hooked up during connection or extended time with door open? IE overtaxes the system

LED's huh? Gonna check into that. EDM 5th's had a dome light (with map light) option. I'm gonna research how that was wired.

LED's kick @$s.

Nice idea Lindso. Ima do the same type thing to a 3g. But my goal is to add door lamps that illuminate or not based on the on/off switch of the dome light. In the SH when the door is open (say while working on the car) the door light stays on regardless of how the map light is switched, off or on.

Your car/progress keeps me trying to keep pace. You have to go see your car. Mine sit outside my window. And I'm winded from watching you. Keep up the good work.
